Role Context

The role requires close collaboration with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation physicians, psychologists, geneticists, radiologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Coordinated treatment and family education will support better seizure control, developmental progress, functional ability, symptom management, and long-term quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage neurological disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents.
* Treat epilepsy, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disease, headaches, movement disorders, and neurogenetic conditions.
* Evaluate disorders involving the central and peripheral nervous systems.
* Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations and review medical, developmental, and family histories.
* Develop individualized treatment and long-term management plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
* Request and interpret EEG, MRI, CT, EMG, nerve conduction studies, laboratory investigations, and other diagnostic tests.
* Manage acute and chronic neurological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
* Monitor treatment response and modify medication, rehabilitation, or follow-up plans when required.
* Coordinate care with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, geneticists, and radiologists.
* Participate in multidisciplinary discussions for complex neurological and neurodevelopmental cases.
* Counsel children and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, medication use, and ongoing care.
* Educate caregivers about seizure safety, symptom monitoring, emergency planning, and treatment adherence.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, diagnostic reports, prescriptions, treatment plans, and follow-up documentation.
* Ensure compliance with Dubai Health Authority requirements, international clinical guidance, and organizational protocols.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and patient safety activities.
* Contribute to continuing medical education and remain current with advances in pediatric neurology.
* Promote ethical, compassionate, evidence-based, and family-centered clinical practice.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold an MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution and have completed an accredited Pediatric residency program.
Fellowship or recognized subspecialty training in Pediatric Neurology is required. Candidates must also possess board certification or an equivalent specialist qualification recognized by the Dubai Health Authority.
A valid Dubai Health Authority Specialist licence, eligibility letter, or confirmed eligibility to obtain one is essential. Applicants should have at least three to five years of post-specialization experience in Pediatric Neurology.
Strong expertise in epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, neurogenetics, EEG interpretation, and pediatric neurodiagnostics is required.
Turkish Board Certification or specialist training completed in Turkey is preferred. Turkish-speaking physicians will receive strong consideration. Previous experience in a tertiary-care or internationally accredited hospital would also be advantageous.
