The Consultant Neurologist will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management for patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders. The successful candidate will manage conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson\'s disease, multiple sclerosis, and migraine. The consultant will also interpret neurodiagnostic investigations, participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, and contribute to clinical education, research, and service improvement.

Role Context
This position is designed for an experienced Consultant Neurologist
The consultant will work with radiologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate evidence-based care. Responsibilities also include mentoring junior doctors, contributing to clinical governance, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and medical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive neurological consultations, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
* Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological disorders.
* Develop individualized treatment and long-term disease management plans.
* Provide specialist care for stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson\'s disease, multiple sclerosis, migraine, and related conditions.
* Evaluate patients presenting with seizures, movement disorders, headaches, cognitive changes, weakness, and sensory disturbances.
* Request and interpret MRI, CT, EEG, EMG, and other neurological investigations.
* Perform or supervise lumbar punctures and other appropriate diagnostic procedures.
* Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust medication or clinical plans according to patient response.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex neurological case discussions.
* Coordinate referrals to neurosurgery, rehabilitation, neurophysiology, radiology, and other specialist services.
* Explain diagnoses, investigation results, treatment options, and expected outcomes to patients and families.
* Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and other clinical team members.
* Contribute to clinical audits, research projects, quality improvement programs, and continuing medical education.
* Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient documentation.
* Follow applicable UAE healthcare regulations, hospital protocols, ethical requirements, and patient-safety standards.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Completion of an accredited residency program in Neurology.
* Board certification in Neurology, such as the Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, European qualification, or an accepted equivalent.
* Eligibility for or possession of Consultant Neurologist classification and medical licensing in the UAE.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in clinical neurology.
* Demonstrated experience managing complex acute and chronic neurological disorders.
* Strong proficiency in interpreting neuroimaging and neurophysiological investigations.
* Sound clinical judgment and effective diagnostic and treatment-planning abilities.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
* Commitment to evidence-based medicine, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.
* Ability to supervise, educate, and support junior medical professionals.
* Fluency in English.
* Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
