Role Summary
The Consultant Dermatologist will evaluate and
manage common, chronic, and complex dermatological conditions affecting patients of different ages. Clinical responsibilities will include physical examination, diagnostic testing, medication management, minor dermatological surgery, follow-up care, and patient counseling.
The consultant will maintain high standards of clinical quality while keeping current with advances in medical, surgical, and preventive dermatology. Cooperation with other physicians and healthcare professionals will ensure coordinated care for patients with conditions requiring multidisciplinary treatment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed dermatological consultations and review each patient\'s medical history, symptoms, and previous treatments.
* Examine the skin, hair, nails, and related structures to identify dermatological abnormalities.
* Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, inflammatory, infectious, autoimmune, and other skin conditions.
* Request, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and dermatological investigations.
* Develop individualized treatment plans according to each patient\'s diagnosis, medical history, symptoms, and clinical needs.
* Prescribe topical and systemic medications while monitoring treatment response, side effects, and patient safety.
* Perform skin biopsies, lesion excisions, suturing, and other minor surgical dermatology procedures.
* Provide follow-up consultations and modify treatment plans based on clinical progress.
* Educate patients about their diagnoses, medication use, treatment expectations, and follow-up requirements.
* Advise patients on appropriate skincare routines, sun protection, disease prevention, and early detection of concerning skin changes.
* Identify cases requiring additional specialist assessment and coordinate appropriate referrals.
* Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, laboratory teams, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
* Explain treatment options, procedural risks, expected outcomes, and aftercare instructions clearly and professionally.
* Maintain complete, accurate, confidential, and timely medical records.
* Follow applicable Dubai healthcare regulations, organizational policies, ethical standards, and patient-safety requirements.

Ideal Profile
* MBBS, MD, or an equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Recognized postgraduate specialization, board certification, fellowship, or an equivalent qualification in Dermatology.
* Valid medical license to practice at consultant level in Dubai.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist.
* Proven experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of dermatological conditions.
* Demonstrated competence in skin biopsies, lesion excisions, suturing, and related minor procedures.
* Strong knowledge of medical and surgical dermatology practices.
* Ability to interpret diagnostic findings and formulate individualized treatment plans.
