Role Context
The Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide advanced outpatient and inpatient care for women requiring pregnancy management, high-risk obstetric support, gynecological diagnosis, surgical treatment, and preventive health services. The role includes managing normal and high-risk pregnancies, performing cesarean sections and gynecological procedures, supporting reproductive health education, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The consultant will help strengthen women’s healthcare services in Dubai through clinical precision, compassionate communication, safe surgical practice, and evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological consultations for outpatient and inpatient cases.
* Manage normal pregnancies, high-risk pregnancies, antenatal care, labor, delivery, and postnatal recovery.
* Diagnose and treat gynecological disorders including menstrual disorders, PCOS, infertility, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, hormonal concerns, and menopausal conditions.
* Perform obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures including cesarean sections and minimally invasive surgeries where clinically appropriate.
* Conduct routine women’s health screenings, preventive care assessments, reproductive health reviews, and follow-up consultations.
* Develop individualized care plans based on patient history, clinical findings, diagnostic results, pregnancy risk level, and treatment goals.
* Collaborate with neonatologists, anesthetists, radiologists, fertility specialists, nurses, midwives, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
* Educate patients on reproductive health, pregnancy care, family planning, contraception, preventive healthcare, and long-term women’s wellness.
* Communicate diagnosis, procedure options, surgical risks, recovery expectations, and treatment plans clearly and compassionately.
* Maintain accurate medical records, consultation notes, delivery documentation, operative reports, consent forms, prescriptions, and follow-up plans.
* Ensure clinical practice follows DHA standards, hospital protocols, patient safety requirements, confidentiality rules, and evidence-based guidelines.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, CME programs, departmental meetings, and multidisciplinary case discussions.
* Support a respectful care environment focused on privacy, cultural awareness, patient confidence, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Board certification or fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Valid DHA Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-board consultant experience in a reputed hospital.
* Strong expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, women’s health management, maternity care, and complex gynecological conditions.
* Experience in minimally invasive gynecological procedures and laparoscopic surgery is preferred.
* Exposure to high-risk obstetric cases in tertiary care settings is an advantage.
* Arabic speaking skills are an advantage.
* Strong surgical, diagnostic, communication, patient counselling, and clinical documentation skills.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a multicultural healthcare environment.
