The Consultant Pediatric Pulmonologist will conduct detailed clinical evaluations, request and interpret diagnostic investigations, prescribe appropriate treatments, and monitor long-term outcomes. Close cooperation with pediatricians, respiratory therapists, allergists, radiologists, critical care physicians, and other specialists will ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialized medical care to pediatric patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders.
* Diagnose and manage asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchitis, chronic cough, respiratory infections, and related pediatric conditions.
* Conduct comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and respiratory assessments.
* Request, review, and interpret appropriate laboratory, imaging, and pulmonary diagnostic investigations.
* Develop individualized treatment plans according to each patient\'s diagnosis, age, symptoms, and medical needs.
* Prescribe medications and other evidence-based therapies while monitoring safety and effectiveness.
* Track patient progress and revise treatment plans in response to clinical findings and treatment outcomes.
* Manage acute respiratory presentations and provide long-term follow-up for chronic pulmonary diseases.
* Collaborate with pediatricians and other healthcare specialists to deliver multidisciplinary patient care.
* Explain diagnoses, treatment options, medication instructions, and preventive measures to patients and families.
* Educate parents and caregivers on symptom monitoring, treatment adherence, and respiratory disease management.
* Contribute to the planning and implementation of pediatric pulmonary healthcare programs and services.
* Participate in medical education and clinical training for healthcare professionals and students.
* Remain current with advances in pediatric pulmonology, diagnostic methods, and emerging treatments.
* Maintain accurate, complete, and current patient records in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
* Follow applicable UAE healthcare regulations, clinical protocols, ethical requirements, and patient-safety practices.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
* Completion of recognized specialist training in Pediatric Pulmonology.
* Diploma, fellowship, board certification, or an equivalent qualification in Pediatric Pulmonology.
* Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Pediatric Pulmonologist.
* Western medical education and training are required.
* Strong knowledge of acute and chronic respiratory disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents.
* Proven ability to conduct detailed clinical assessments and interpret pulmonary diagnostic findings.
* Sound clinical judgment and competence in developing individualized treatment plans.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Capacity to communicate clearly and sensitively with children, parents, and caregivers.
* Ability to work effectively within a multicultural and fast-paced healthcare environment.
* Strong multidisciplinary collaboration and clinical decision-making skills.
