Role Context
The Area Project Lead - NDT Projects will assist in managing inspection-related project activities across assigned sites or operational areas. The role connects technical inspection work with project delivery, ensuring teams, schedules, client communication, safety expectations, and reporting requirements are properly coordinated.
This position supports smooth execution of oil and gas inspection projects by combining leadership, project management, team coordination, risk awareness, and working knowledge of NDT methods such as UT, MPT, PT, and RTFI.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate assigned area-level project activities for oil and gas testing, inspection, and certification work.
* Support planning, scheduling, execution, and tracking of NDT inspection tasks across project sites.
* Coordinate with inspection teams, supervisors, clients, and internal project stakeholders to maintain workflow continuity.
* Monitor project progress, identify delays or site issues, and recommend practical corrective actions.
* Ensure inspection activities are aligned with client specifications, quality procedures, safety expectations, and project timelines.
* Support communication between field teams and management regarding manpower, equipment, documentation, and technical priorities.
* Assist in budgeting, resource planning, and time management for assigned project areas.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, inspection updates, and progress records.
* Apply risk management thinking to reduce operational delays and support safe project delivery.
* Build positive client relationships through timely communication, professional coordination, and issue resolution.
* Guide team members where needed and promote disciplined work practices across inspection activities.
* Support final project closeout documentation and ensure required technical records are completed properly.
Ideal Profile
* BE or B.Tech qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
* 2-3 years of experience in project coordination, inspection project support, oil and gas operations, or related industrial project roles.
* NDT Level 2 certification is required, preferably in UT, MPT, and PT.
* PCN or ISO 9712 RTFI certification will be an added advantage.
* Practical experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
* Strong leadership ability with confidence to coordinate teams and site activities.
* Good communication skills for client interaction, reporting, and stakeholder updates.
* Understanding of project management, budgeting, time control, and risk management basics.
* Ability to solve operational problems and support smooth project execution.
* Strong team coordination skills with attention to safety, quality, and documentation.
