Role Context
The Associate Expeditor
The role also provides an important coordination link between suppliers and internal engineering, quality, procurement, logistics, and project teams. Accurate reporting and persistent follow-up help project stakeholders make timely decisions and resolve supply chain constraints during execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Review assigned projects and understand the expediting strategy established for each purchase order and material package.
* Perform supplier follow-up at the frequency required by the assigned Expediting Level.
* Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding the status of project goods, equipment, materials, and documentation.
* Monitor supplier material availability, buy-out activities, fabrication progress, manufacturing milestones, shipping readiness, and documentation status against purchase order requirements.
* Identify supplier performance gaps, potential delivery delays, resource shortages, and production constraints and communicate concerns promptly.
* Expedite supplier data and technical submissions required for purchase order execution and arrange coordination with Engineering where necessary.
* Check planned manufacturing activities for early warning signs that material or resource shortages could disrupt production.
* Record accurate and timely package updates in company systems and maintain reliable status information throughout project execution.
* Prepare and distribute weekly expediting reports covering progress, outstanding actions, schedule exposure, and supplier concerns.
* Investigate potential problems affecting the delivery of goods or services and work with relevant stakeholders toward practical resolution.
* Coordinate with the Quality team to obtain supplier inspection notifications and support inspection scheduling.
* Arrange Factory Acceptance Test timing with suppliers, package managers, engineers, quality inspectors, third-party inspectors, and clients when required.
* Work with traffic and logistics coordinators to address export compliance requirements and secure shipping documents from suppliers.
* Follow Over, Short and Damage cases and Equipment Receiving and Inspection Reports through corrective action and close-out.
* Track outstanding purchase order deliveries and follow suppliers until remaining commitments are completed.
* Verify that final documentation has been received before closing completed material packages.
* Review purchase order delivery requirements against contractual schedules and escalate deviations that could affect project milestones.
* Support issue resolution between suppliers and engineering, quality, logistics, procurement, and other project stakeholders.
* Carry out additional expediting activities according to project requirements and team direction.
Ideal Profile
A Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates holding HSD, GED, or IGCSE qualifications may be considered with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
The position is designed for candidates with 0-3 years of relevant experience and a developing understanding of expediting, procurement, logistics, and materials management processes.
Applicants should understand how material management systems support procurement and logistics activities and be able to apply established expediting procedures during project execution. Familiarity with the expediting workflow outlined within the Unifi system is valuable.
The role requires careful attention to purchase order commitments, supplier documentation, manufacturing progress, inspection milestones, shipping requirements, and delivery schedules. Candidates should also be comfortable coordinating with multiple technical and commercial stakeholders while maintaining accurate project records.
