Role Context
The Associate Quality Inspector supports inspection and quality activities that help confirm whether products, materials, and field work meet project specifications and customer requirements. The role works closely with Senior Quality Inspectors, Quality Inspectors, operations teams, clients, certifying authorities, job sharing personnel, and subcontractors to verify conformity, document inspection results, identify non-conformities, and support corrective action closure. By assisting with daily surveillance, field inspections, audits, and inspection records, this position helps protect project quality, reduce rework, and improve confidence in final product acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Senior Quality Inspectors and Quality Inspectors in determining product conformity against customer specifications, approved drawings, project quality plans, and inspection requirements.
* Support independent inspections, daily surveillance activities, and quality tests in line with the Project Quality Plan.
* Help identify non-conformities that require rectification and support follow-up until final resolution.
* Assist in appraising product quality to determine conformity or non-conformity against approved drawings and inspection and test plans.
* Document inspection results accurately and ensure records are clear, complete, and traceable.
* Raise required documentation when non-conformity exists to support corrective action and quality resolution.
* Assist with coordination between operations, certifying authorities, clients, job sharing personnel, subcontractors, and project quality teams.
* Support verification that project specifications are followed during inspection and field quality activities.
* Assist in field inspections according to project specifications, scope of work, Project Quality Plan, and applicable ITP requirements.
* Help confirm adherence to approved procedures and plans through effective audit support and surveillance activities.
* Maintain careful attention to detail when checking drawings, inspection documents, test records, and quality requirements.
* Follow existing inspection procedures to resolve routine or standard quality problems.
* Receive guidance from senior team members while building practical knowledge of inspection methods, quality procedures, and project documentation.
* Support communication of inspection findings to relevant team members for corrective action and timely closure.
* Contribute to a quality-focused work environment by helping ensure products and work activities meet required project standards.
Ideal Profile
* High school diploma or degree in a relevant field of study.
* Minimum 2 years of quality control, inspection, field inspection, or discipline-related quality experience.
* Experience supporting inspections in oil and energy, fabrication, construction, engineering, offshore, marine, or industrial project environments is preferred.
* Basic understanding of product conformity, non-conformance reporting, inspection and test plans, project quality plans, and approved drawings.
* Ability to follow established inspection procedures and work under guidance from senior inspectors.
* Proficient with computers and Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Strong attention to detail when reviewing inspection results, documentation, drawings, and quality records.
* Good communication skills for working with inspectors, operations teams, subcontractors, clients, and certifying authorities.
* Organized approach to documentation, surveillance support, corrective action tracking, and inspection follow-up.
* Ability to identify routine inspection concerns and escalate issues clearly when required.
