Key Responsibilities
* Plan and support the preparation and consolidation of the annual directorate budget and five-year business plan.
* Review budget requirements submitted by functions and highlight variances, gaps, assumptions, and areas requiring management action.
* Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports for the directorate.
* Assist the Vice President, Budget and Cost Control in planning and implementing budget preparation procedures.
* Provide clarifications, guidance, and support to functions during draft budget preparation.
* Review submitted business plans from functions and assess alignment with approved financial direction.
* Participate in budget challenge sessions to identify budget basis, cost drivers, potential savings, and areas for optimization.
* Assist in presenting draft budgets, budget review outcomes, financial analysis, and recommendations to senior management.
* Support the Functional Budget Review exercise and consolidate outcomes for management review.
* Analyze actual revenue and expenses against approved budgets and prepare explanations for key variances.
* Prepare financial projections for year-end expenses and support timely management decision-making.
* Review submitted accruals from functions to support accurate monthly and year-end account closing.
* Develop, enhance, and maintain budget monitoring tools, dashboards, and cost control reports.
* Identify significant deviations from approved budgets and support availability of funds through timely reporting.
* Coordinate with functions and group companies to analyze actual financial performance and present reasons for material variances.
* Review financial policies, systems, and procedures to ensure alignment with accounting principles and approved financial agreements.
* Support development of directorate financial systems in coordination with Group Information Technology and Finance and Investment teams.
* Provide input for department budgets, approved work plans, MIS reports, progress reports, and cost control updates.
* Implement approved policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by designing better tools, techniques, and reporting methods for budget and cost control activities.
* Comply with HSE, sustainability, governance, and ADNOC Code of Practices requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
* Strong experience in budgeting, cost control, financial planning, business planning, budget consolidation, and management reporting.
* Good understanding of annual budgeting, five-year planning, financial forecasting, accrual reviews, and variance analysis.
* Ability to review business plan submissions, challenge assumptions, and identify savings or optimization opportunities.
* Skilled in preparing reports, presentations, dashboards, and financial summaries for senior management.
* Strong knowledge of financial policies, accounting principles, cost control procedures, and budget monitoring practices.
* Able to coordinate with multiple functions, group companies, finance teams, and senior stakeholders.
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial performance, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
* Experience in large, complex, or asset-intensive organizations, preferably within the energy sector, will be an advantage.
* High attention to detail with strong organization, communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
