Key Responsibilities
Maintenance leadership will cover immediate field requirements and the long-term condition of instrumentation assets.
* Plan routine, preventive, breakdown and shutdown work for instrument and control equipment.
* Supervise execution and verify that maintenance activities meet approved requirements.
* Assist operations personnel during plant start-up and system-performance checks.
* Support testing, troubleshooting and surveillance of critical control assets.
* Coordinate maintenance interfaces with mechanical and electrical sections.
* Establish clear communication between operations and maintenance work groups.
* Provide field-level technical direction during complex or time-sensitive repairs.
* Diagnose problems quickly to limit equipment and production downtime.
* Review daily work demand and determine appropriate workforce allocation.
* Compare available resources with maintenance backlog and scheduled commitments.
* Coordinate outstanding work with relevant sections until closure.
* Arrange suitable tools, consumables, materials and replacement parts.
* Check stock levels and material quality before planned maintenance begins.
* Investigate instrument failures and unscheduled plant shutdowns.
* Lead root cause analysis and define actions that prevent repeat events.
* Recommend reliability measures that increase equipment availability.
* Forecast major maintenance needs, upgrades and emerging obsolescence concerns.
* Provide asset requirements for the division\'s five-year rolling business plan.
* Support the engineering and commissioning of new projects and plant modifications.
* Review technical designs and specifications for compliance and cost effectiveness.
* Ensure proposed solutions follow relevant standards and proven maintenance practices.
* Define technical requirements for equipment, contracted work and replacement materials.
* Participate in contractor and supplier technical bid evaluations.
* Inspect delivered materials to confirm specification and quality compliance.
* Monitor contractor workmanship and adherence to approved technical standards.
* Maintain maintenance records and provide accurate progress information when required.
* Promote safe execution during testing, fault-finding and commissioning activities.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics or an equivalent professional qualification. A minimum of six years of instrument and control engineering and maintenance experience is required within a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Candidates should understand control-system reliability, maintenance scheduling and multidisciplinary plant interfaces. The role requires sound fault-finding ability, practical resource planning and the confidence to supervise contractors and technical personnel. Relevant professional certification should be held where applicable.
The position involves minimal physical effort in a mainly air-conditioned environment, with occasional exposure to site heat, humidity and dust.
