Role Overview
This role provides Distributed Control System (DCS) expertise for Instrumentation and Control engineering activities, ensuring reliable plant operations and compliance with ADNOC and international standards. The position is responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, hardware and software upgrades, cybersecurity compliance, and implementing system improvements for Borouge’s operating plants and projects.

Role Summary
The jobholder will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize DCS systems to support Borouge operations. Responsibilities include ensuring system security, planning and executing upgrades, developing logic improvements, coordinating with projects, and applying best practices for operational excellence and cyber compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
* Analyze operational incidents and resolve issues through logic modifications and interface enhancements
* Troubleshoot and monitor integration with systems such as ESD, F&G, analyzers, SAP, TIBCO, LIMS, and historian
* Support root cause analysis and implement automation improvements
* Collect alarm data and support alarm management initiatives
Maintenance and System Improvements
* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults in servers, controllers, and I/O modules
* Plan and execute hardware replacements, upgrades, and patches
* Perform and maintain system backups, restore configurations during failures
* Provide on-call operational support to ensure plant continuity
Reliability and Cybersecurity
* Implement cyber compliance and patch management in line with ADNOC standards
* Plan system modernization using virtualization, cloud or edge solutions
* Integrate advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning for predictive maintenance
Project Support
* Provide process control expertise during plant modifications and new projects
* Participate in FATs, hazard analysis studies, and validation of ICS designs
* Ensure compliance with Borouge’s engineering and safety standards
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
* 8-12 years experience in Instrumentation and Control systems, preferably in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical sector
* Hands-on experience with Honeywell DCS systems and logic development
* Knowledge of SCADA communication protocols such as OPC and Modbus TCP/IP
* Familiarity with SAP, EDMS, and related tools
* Understanding of cybersecurity requirements in OT systems
Preferred Certifications
* ISA or TÜV Functional Safety Certification
* Cybersecurity-related certifications are an advantage
Core Skills
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
* Expertise in DCS maintenance, upgrades, and configuration
* Knowledge of alarm management systems
* Ability to manage vendors and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams
