Role Context
The Digital Oilfield Engineer - IT OT Solutions will support ADNOC Offshore by managing, developing, and coordinating real-time data solutions and digital oilfield initiatives across upstream operations. The position combines project management, technical solution design, requirements gathering, feasibility studies, POC development, big data technology assessment, vendor evaluation, and IT-OT implementation. By working with reservoir, production, drilling, maintenance, engineering, operations, business planning, and IT teams, the role helps convert digital oilfield strategy into scalable solutions that support better surveillance, optimization, decision-making, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with ADNOC Offshore stakeholders on upstream real-time solution issues, technical requirements, and corrective actions.
* Coordinate real-time data solution requirements and delivery activities in alignment with ADNOC Headquarters.
* Provide specialized technical support for managing, developing, monitoring, and delivering company-wide real-time data domain solutions.
* Keep updated on emerging technologies, digital oilfield benchmarks, big data tools, and real-time data opportunities that can improve business performance.
* Prepare and maintain scopes of work for strategic digital oilfield and real-time data projects.
* Assist in preparing business cases for new digital oilfield, real-time data, IT-OT, and technology implementation projects.
* Prepare models, proof of concepts, and pilot solutions to reduce implementation risk and test solution options.
* Coordinate strategic projects and manage implementation activities from assessment through delivery.
* Assess, select, and support implementation of new technologies, including big data solutions, across project stages.
* Coordinate and support delivery and implementation of digital oilfield solutions from early assessment to final deployment.
* Manage large and complex technology projects in line with company standards, methodologies, processes, tools, and quality requirements.
* Identify improvement areas and new opportunities, plan assessments, develop evolution drafts, and prepare new solution proposals.
* Prepare and maintain project plans, stage plans, exception plans, progress updates, and implementation documentation.
* Adopt and apply suitable technical tools in line with ADNOC Offshore quality standards and technology requirements.
* Advise stakeholders on the potential of digital oilfield technologies to improve upstream business performance.
* Work with reservoir, production, drilling, geology, maintenance, operations, and business planning teams to support high-level application platforms.
* Support development and implementation of reservoir optimization and well surveillance monitoring platforms.
* Support tendering and implementation processes for digital oilfield solutions, real-time systems, and upstream applications.
* Promote digital oilfield practices as a way to improve reservoir recovery, safe operations, efficient production, and business outcomes.
* Work closely with company leaders and subject matter experts to consolidate technical solution portfolios and execute digital oilfield tasks.
* Manage solution evolution through feasibility studies, from idea and concept stage to full implementation.
* Conduct risk assessments and risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Respond to internal and external changes and highlight their impact on ADNOC Offshore business processes.
* Maintain frequent coordination with contractors, vendors, external companies, and solution providers.
* Gather functional requirements from managers, team members, stakeholders, and business users to enhance existing applications or introduce new solutions.
* Evaluate vendor solution and product offerings based on business value, technical fit, integration needs, scalability, and operational requirements.
* Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned activities to achieve functional objectives.
* Train and develop assigned staff on relevant technical and project skills.
* Provide input for department and section budgets and support approved work plans.
* Investigate significant budget variances and highlight findings to support performance and cost control.
* Implement approved policies, systems, processes, standards, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
* Contribute to approved performance objectives in line with the company performance framework.
* Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve operational process quality and efficiency.
* Identify process improvements against best practices and ISO standards to develop intelligent solutions for functional challenges.
* Comply with HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, sustainability guidelines, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
* Provide inputs for section MIS reports, progress reports, and management updates.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or another technical discipline.
* Strong exposure to IT applications in oil and gas engineering, drilling, geology, production, reservoir monitoring, and upstream operations.
* Minimum 8-9 years of experience in a similar digital oilfield, real-time data, IT-OT, upstream technology, or enterprise solution implementation role.
* Experience with a multinational company is preferred.
* Oil and Energy or oil and gas sector experience is strongly preferred.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to innovate and think beyond traditional boundaries.
* Good knowledge of reservoir monitoring, petroleum engineering, projects, operations, business planning strategy, and integrity management.
* Broad experience in IT-OT solution implementation for large-scale projects.
* Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in data visualization and analytical tools.
* Strong understanding of upstream application integration and business processes to propose enhancements and new technical solutions.
* Detailed knowledge of project management, including requirements documentation, resource selection, planning techniques, change control, variance tracking, cost control, schedule control, project reporting, and documentation.
* Experience preparing business cases, scopes of work, POCs, pilots, feasibility studies, technical proposals, and project plans.
* Ability to coordinate with ADNOC Headquarters, ADNOC Group companies, internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and external solution providers.
* Proficient in English with strong communication, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement capability.
* Business Process Management certification is an advantage.
* Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage.
