Key Responsibilities
The supervisor will balance safe field execution with maintenance scheduling, technical control and accurate reporting.
* Confirm that personnel, tools, spare parts and other resources are available before maintenance begins.
* Plan and supervise preventive, predictive and troubleshooting activities for plant electrical equipment.
* Monitor task progress and report on completion time, work quality and outstanding requirements.
* Provide technical support for equipment repairs and prepare scopes of work, contracts and cost reports.
* Participate in commercial and technical negotiations for external repair services.
* Contribute to critical maintenance procedures and electrical task risk assessments.
* Investigate equipment failures, determine root causes and recommend effective control measures.
* Maintain accurate fault reports, logbooks, maintenance records and equipment histories.
* Update records for refurbished electrical equipment and associated accessories.
* Authorize electrical isolation certificates and relevant maintenance work permits.
* Lead daily and weekly toolbox talks covering job hazards and safe working methods.
* Supervise testing and commissioning of new, repaired or modified electrical systems.
* Confirm that repairs and installations comply with approved methods and safety procedures.
* Support the planning and execution of plant shutdowns and major equipment overhauls.
* Prepare purchase and material requisitions for required spare parts, tools and consumables.
* Inspect newly received materials to verify specification compliance and operational suitability.
Ideal Profile
A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification is required. Applicants should have at least five years of relevant experience maintaining electrical equipment in an industrial plant environment.
The successful candidate will understand electrical isolation, maintenance permits, equipment commissioning, failure analysis and shutdown execution. The role requires the ability to supervise field teams, assess technical risks and maintain reliable equipment documentation. Professional certification should be held where applicable.
