Role Context
The Electrical Reliability Engineer serves as the main focal point for electrical reliability across plant operations, ensuring safe and efficient performance of critical equipment such as drives, UPS systems, and emergency power systems. The role supports operational excellence by reducing failures, strengthening maintenance practices, and driving reliability-centered improvements across Borouge assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead investigations of major equipment failures and high-risk operational incidents to identify root causes and recommend effective mitigation plans
* Develop maintenance strategies, performance standards, and monitor implementation across plant electrical systems
* Standardize preventive and predictive maintenance plans, procedures, and engineering checklists across multiple plants
* Prepare and review work instructions, inspection forms, and maintenance documentation with maintenance engineering teams
* Coordinate establishment of maintenance contracts applicable across the site and shared plant operations
* Lead or participate in internal and external audits, benchmarking studies, and operational excellence initiatives
* Manage APMS systems using Meridium RCM and FMEA modules to optimize maintenance strategies and improve asset reliability
* Perform Root Cause Analysis for recurring failures and recommend sustainable corrective actions
* Evaluate Management of Change (MOC) requests and provide engineering inputs for plant modifications and reliability improvements
* Support end-of-life management processes for critical electrical equipment and recommend replacement strategies
* Participate in HAZOP studies related to plant modifications and identify potential operational and safety risks
* Drive BAD ACTOR elimination programs for recurring electrical reliability issues within assigned plant areas
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 7 years of experience as Maintenance or Reliability Engineer within oil and gas, petrochemical, or refinery industries
* Strong experience troubleshooting HV and LV Variable Speed Drives, UPS systems, Emergency Diesel Generators, and other critical electrical equipment
* Good knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and reliability improvement methodologies
* Experience using Meridium, RCM, FMEA, and related asset performance management systems
* Strong understanding of HAZOP studies, MOC processes, and operational risk management
* Excellent problem-solving and technical reporting skills
* Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
* Professional certifications such as CMRP, CRE, or equivalent are preferred
