Key Responsibilities
* Ensure numbering systems, document control procedures, engineering design models, and information management application models are implemented accurately.
* Review and validate engineering design deliverables for compliance with ADNOC Group Standards, SmartPlant specifications, and Engineering Information Management requirements.
* Participate in engineering design systems audits, information compliance reviews, and corrective action implementation.
* Maintain integrity, consistency, traceability, and accuracy of engineering information across drawings, databases, SmartPlant systems, and digital engineering platforms.
* Develop scopes of work for as-built, digitization, engineering information updates, and asset information improvement projects.
* Oversee drafting and design activities linked to MOC work, technical projects, EPC projects, plant updates, pipeline records, and digitization programs.
* Support SmartPlant database updates and ensure engineering information changes are properly captured under MOC requirements.
* Supervise multidisciplinary draftsmen and designers to ensure accurate drawing development, updates, checking, and approval workflows.
* Review drafting and design requests, evaluate requirements, allocate tasks, and monitor completion against company standards and schedules.
* Provide technical guidance to contractors and vendors during drawing development to ensure compliance with ADNOC standards.
* Review and validate 2D drawings extracted from 3D models, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Electrical, and vendor-supplied documents.
* Oversee publishing of TEF deliverables into the Engineering Information Management System.
* Support upload, maintenance, and integrity of 3D native files and associated deliverables used for producing 2D engineering drawings.
* Review drafting technical queries, issue logs, and Asset Engineering Information queries from site users.
* Identify root causes of engineering information issues and coordinate with stakeholders for timely resolution.
* Develop mechanical, process, civil, electrical, and instrumentation drawings for in-house projects using SmartPlant, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
* Update existing drawings based on site verification, field inputs, and engineering coordination.
* Prepare drawings, documentation, Bills of Material, and tender package inputs for in-house MOC and technical projects.
* Conduct site visits to verify as-built accuracy and ensure alignment between field conditions and engineering records.
* Review received as-built drawings for compliance with ADNOC drafting procedures and information management standards.
* Update MOC documentation and coordinate preparation of current microfilms or approved records for as-built drawings.
* Ensure project and engineering documents are stored, controlled, maintained, and updated in approved engineering information management systems.
* Initiate, review, and update drafting office standards, guidelines, numbering conventions, and procedures.
* Implement and maintain tagging and numbering systems for equipment, instruments, pipelines, drawings, and engineering assets.
* Allocate and control new tag numbers and drawing numbers for Select, Define, and Execute phase projects.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in Engineering Information Management, SmartPlant application support, engineering design systems, drafting governance, or related roles.
* Strong background in large industrial organizations, preferably within oil and gas, energy, petrochemical, or asset-intensive environments.
* Proficient in SmartPlant Enterprise applications, Drafting Services, and engineering information management workflows.
* Working knowledge of SmartPlant disciplines, EIMS platforms, digital engineering systems, and asset information management tools.
* Experience in drafting office management, drawing control, 3D model deliverables, 2D drawing extraction, as-built updates, and MOC documentation.
* Strong understanding of engineering standards, tagging systems, numbering conventions, document control, and information integrity requirements.
* Able to review technical deliverables, resolve drafting queries, coordinate with site users, and guide contractors or vendors.
* Experience developing specifications, drafting standards, procedures, and engineering information management implementation plans.
* Strong planning, organizing, checking, documentation, and quality review skills.
* Customer-focused and goal-oriented, with good knowledge of HSE practices and engineering compliance requirements.
