Position Overview
The Engineering Manager - Gas Processing Projects role in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, is an Oil and Energy hiring opportunity overseeing multidisciplinary technical delivery across new developments, facility upgrades, brownfield modifications, and fast-track operational projects.

The position will direct engineering from early assessment and concept selection through definition, execution, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover. It will maintain technical integrity while ensuring that scope, cost, schedule, quality, HSE, and operational-readiness requirements are achieved.

Role Context
ADNOC Gas projects span assets such as Habshan, Bab, Bu Hasa, Asab, and Habshan 5. The portfolio includes production-capacity enhancements, debottlenecking work, reliability improvements, engineering modifications, and business-continuity projects responding to urgent operational needs.

The Engineering Manager will provide a single point of technical coordination among project teams, Operations, discipline engineers, PMCs, licensors, OEMs, vendors, consultants, and EPC contractors. The immediate priority will be to strengthen engineering governance, improve contractor-deliverable control, and ensure safe progression through each project gate.

Key Responsibilities
The role will manage engineering strategy, technical assurance, contractor performance, commissioning readiness, stakeholder interfaces, and continuous improvement.

* Lead multidisciplinary engineering across the ASSESS, SELECT, DEFINE, and EXECUTE phases.
* Establish clear technical objectives aligned with project and business requirements.
* Coordinate engineering activities with ADNOC strategies and operational priorities.
* Develop and review Statements of Requirement, technical strategies, and execution plans.
* Support preparation of tender packages for engineering and EPC services.
* Participate in technical evaluation and selection of consultants, PMCs, licensors, and contractors.
* Review contractor specifications, methodologies, engineering plans, and technical submissions.
* Assess subcontracting strategies for compliance with project and governance requirements.
* Direct technical specialists during design, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover.
* Provide guidance on complex engineering decisions and cross-discipline concerns.
* Apply ADNOC engineering standards, codes, specifications, and recognized industry practices.
* Maintain engineering assurance and technical-governance controls across assigned projects.
* Track deliverables produced by licensors, engineering consultants, and EPC organizations.
* Identify late, incomplete, or non-compliant deliverables and implement corrective action.
* Encourage cost-effective and fit-for-purpose solutions without weakening safety or integrity.
* Promote the appropriate use of modern equipment, materials, systems, and technologies.
* Review construction-support, pre-commissioning, and commissioning documentation.
* Coordinate engineering input needed for Mechanical Completion and Operational Readiness.
* Ensure timely technical support for Performance Testing and final project handover.
* Manage interfaces among Operations, end users, project teams, contractors, and group companies.
* Engage vendors, licensors, OEMs, and external technical specialists when support is required.
* Resolve interface issues and engineering bottlenecks affecting project progress.
* Ensure technical work complies with HSE, quality, risk, and regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate engineering contributions to HAZID, HAZOP, PHSER, and assurance reviews.
* Establish engineering KPIs and review performance against approved objectives.
* Produce technical dashboards, progress reports, and decision-ready management updates.
* Embed lessons learned, value engineering, benchmarking, and continuous improvement into delivery.

Ideal Profile
Candidates should demonstrate substantial senior-level experience leading multidisciplinary engineering on major oil and gas developments.

Proven involvement in FEED, detailed engineering, EPC execution, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover is essential. A strong understanding of ADNOC Value Assurance Process requirements, technical assurance, project governance, and operational readiness is required.

The preferred candidate will have managed engineering consultants, PMCs, licensors, vendors, OEMs, and EPC contractors. Experience involving gas-processing assets, brownfield modifications, debottlenecking, capacity enhancement, and value engineering will be highly advantageous.

Success requires confident leadership, sound technical judgement, stakeholder influence, interface management, and the ability to resolve delivery problems without compromising safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
