Role Context
The Gas Inspector - Safety Compliance will support inspection and compliance activities for gas utilization systems and petroleum product storage facilities across oil and gas and industrial project environments. The role is important for verifying system safety, identifying operational risks, checking equipment condition, and ensuring that facilities comply with regulatory and integrity requirements.
This position contributes to safe project execution by combining gas inspection expertise, engineering knowledge, regulatory awareness, confined space safety, equipment calibration checks, emergency response readiness, and accurate technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect gas utilization systems including LPG, NG, SNG, and related industrial gas installations.
* Support safety and integrity inspections for petroleum products storage facilities and associated equipment.
* Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance checks during inspection activities.
* Verify gas detection systems, equipment condition, calibration status, PPE usage, and safety controls.
* Review inspection areas for potential leaks, unsafe conditions, confined space risks, and operational hazards.
* Check compliance with applicable safety regulations, client requirements, inspection standards, and project procedures.
* Prepare inspection findings, technical reports, safety observations, corrective action notes, and compliance documentation.
* Coordinate with site teams, safety personnel, maintenance teams, client representatives, and project stakeholders.
* Support emergency response planning and ensure inspection activities follow approved safety precautions.
* Use observation skills to identify defects, abnormal conditions, equipment concerns, or procedural non-compliance.
* Maintain proper documentation for inspections, audits, equipment checks, and safety verification records.
* Promote safe work practices while supporting timely completion of inspection and certification activities.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
* Diploma holders with strong relevant experience may also be considered where accepted by project requirements.
* Certificate of Recognition or UAE Equivalency Certificate issued by MOHESR is preferred where required.
* 10-12 years of experience in gas utilization systems, including LPG, NG, or SNG.
* Experience with petroleum products storage facilities is an advantage.
* Demonstrated background in regulatory compliance, safety inspections, and integrity inspection activities.
* Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, API 510, API 570, or API 653 are preferred.
* Strong understanding of gas detection, equipment calibration, PPE requirements, confined space inspection, and emergency response.
* Ability to prepare accurate reports and communicate inspection findings clearly.
* Strong attention to detail with a practical approach to risk control, safety compliance, and documentation.
* Indian candidates are preferred as this opportunity is exclusively open to India candidates.
