Role Context
The position provides technical authority for inspection, corrosion control and equipment-life


assessment across operating facilities. Findings from on-stream inspections, turnarounds and failure investigations will guide repair decisions, operating limits and asset-upgrade plans. The engineer will also supervise assigned personnel and coordinate with consultants, service providers and government agencies when required.

Key Responsibilities
Inspection recommendations must balance safe operation, equipment reliability and remaining service life.

* Monitor the mechanical performance of plant equipment during normal operations and test runs.
* Confirm that equipment remains within approved design and operating limits.
* Prepare technical reports covering equipment condition, inspection findings and required action.
* Verify the functionality and upkeep of cathodic protection and other corrosion-control systems.
* Maintain inspection records and equipment files for process units, piping and storage tanks.
* Review operating conditions to identify corrosive environments within process streams.
* Evaluate material performance and recommend suitable corrosion-control measures.
* Review metallurgy requirements for plant modifications and major engineering projects.
* Update inspection-management procedures, technical specifications and working practices.
* Recommend repairs or revised operating parameters to extend equipment and piping life.
* Conduct corrosion studies, component failure analyses and technical investigations.
* Inspect and supervise the inspection of process equipment, tanks, piping, safety relief valves and lifting equipment.
* Analyse findings from turnaround and on-stream inspections and issue asset-integrity recommendations.
* Inspect materials to confirm suitability for their intended plant applications.
* Investigate failures involving equipment components, protective coatings, refractory systems and insulation.
* Complete root cause analysis reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
* Calculate remaining equipment life to support maintenance and replacement planning.
* Review equipment and piping performance and propose technical upgrades when required.
* Plan and coordinate assigned inspection activities against departmental objectives.
* Guide and develop assigned personnel in relevant inspection and integrity practices.
* Support budget preparation and monitor significant cost or performance variances.
* Implement approved policies, systems, standards and procedures in line with company and international requirements.
* Identify tools and process improvements that increase inspection quality and efficiency.
* Contribute technical information to management reports and performance reviews.
* Maintain compliance with applicable HSE, sustainability and legal requirements.

Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline. A minimum of six years of relevant experience in plant inspection, corrosion engineering or asset integrity assurance is required.

The role suits an engineer who can interpret equipment-condition evidence, investigate failures and convert inspection findings into practical repair or operating recommendations. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external technical parties is important. Relevant professional certification should be held where applicable.

The position is primarily based in an air-conditioned environment, with occasional plant visits involving exposure to heat, humidity and dust.
