Role Summary

The Instrument and Control Maintenance Supervisor will plan and supervise maintenance activities for a wide range of plant instrument and control systems to ensure reliable equipment performance, safe operations, and minimum downtime. The role includes supporting operations and maintenance teams, coordinating with mechanical and electrical sections, managing manpower and materials, executing preventive and breakdown maintenance plans, supporting shutdowns and start-up activities, and contributing to continuous improvement in maintenance performance.

Core Duties

* Plan, supervise, and coordinate instrument and control maintenance activities across the assigned plant area.
* Support operations and maintenance teams with equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine surveillance, and start-up activities.
* Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, operations, and other maintenance teams to ensure smooth execution of planned maintenance work.
* Provide field technical support during critical maintenance activities to resolve equipment issues with minimum downtime.
* Evaluate daily manpower requirements and arrange resources for preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance plans.
* Assess workload, maintenance backlog, and work plans to ensure timely completion of agreed maintenance activities.
* Monitor resource availability and coordinate with relevant sections to support effective work plan compliance.
* Ensure required materials, spare parts, consumables, and tools are available in the right quality and quantity.
* Conduct and support root cause analysis for equipment failures and non-scheduled shutdowns.
* Recommend corrective and preventive solutions to improve reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant equipment.
* Provide input for major maintenance planning, upgrades, obsolescence issues, and five-year rolling business plans.
* Support development, implementation, and commissioning of new projects related to instrument and control systems.
* Participate in technical requirement definition, technical bid evaluation, and inspection of received materials.
* Monitor contractor performance for assigned maintenance works to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with standards.
* Train and develop assigned staff to improve technical capability and support section objectives.
* Provide input for department and section budgets and support approved budget implementation.
* Investigate and highlight significant budget or performance variances to support cost control.
* Implement approved policies, systems, processes, standards, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
* Contribute to approved performance objectives under the company performance framework.
* Identify and implement tools, techniques, and process improvements to improve maintenance efficiency and operational quality.
* Ensure compliance with HSE policies, sustainability guidelines, legal requirements, ADNOC Code of Practices, and applicable regulations.
* Provide inputs for section MIS reports, progress updates, and management reporting.

Required Skills and Experience

* Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation and Control, Electronics, or an equivalent professional qualification.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in instrument and control engineering and maintenance within a large industrial organization.
* Oil and gas industry experience is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of instrument and control systems used in plant operations.
* Practical experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, shutdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and start-up support.
* Ability to coordinate maintenance work with operations, mechanical, electrical, contractors, and external service providers.
* Experience in root cause analysis, equipment failure investigation, and reliability improvement.
* Knowledge of technical bid evaluation, material inspection, maintenance planning, and contractor performance monitoring.
* Understanding of company maintenance systems, ISO standards, safety procedures, and international maintenance practices.
* Strong supervision, planning, communication, problem-solving, and team development skills.
* Ability to work in an A/C environment with occasional exposure to heat, humidity, dust, and prevailing plant weather conditions during site visits.
