Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise on engineering matters related to Instrument and Control systems, design, standards, and execution.
* Coordinate with technical departments, business units, operations teams, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to resolve engineering issues.
* Prepare scopes of work for external consultants and EPC contractors for assigned engineering jobs.
* Review design studies and engineering deliverables prepared by consultants to ensure compliance with technical requirements and company standards.
* Review and approve drawings, specifications, calculations, technical documents, and design submissions for Instrumentation and Controls works.
* Perform engineering calculations to validate, optimize, and improve design solutions.
* Ensure advanced and cost-effective technologies are considered during the engineering phase where technically suitable.
* Apply value-added engineering principles to improve reliability, safety, cost efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
* Provide input to engineering procedures, company standards, technical specifications, design philosophies, and engineering guidelines.
* Coordinate with other discipline engineers to confirm technical requirements, manage interfaces, and support integrated project delivery.
* Provide in-house technical authority support and specialized problem-solving for instrumentation and control engineering challenges.
* Conduct technical authority reviews and assess vendor or supplier deviations from company specifications and standards.
* Review non-compliance requests submitted through project PMC teams and recommend acceptance, rejection, or corrective action.
* Support engineering quality, technical integrity, and safe design execution across assigned projects and modification works.
* Maintain professional documentation, review records, technical comments, and design approval evidence as required by company procedures.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Strong experience in Instrument and Control engineering within oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or large industrial facilities.
* Solid knowledge of instrumentation design, control systems, technical specifications, design philosophies, engineering standards, and project execution workflows.
* Experience reviewing EPC contractor and consultant deliverables, drawings, calculations, technical documents, and vendor submissions.
* Ability to evaluate technical deviations, non-compliance requests, design risks, and interface issues with sound engineering judgment.
* Strong understanding of engineering procedures, value engineering, design optimization, and technical authority review processes.
* Able to work with multidisciplinary teams including process, electrical, mechanical, operations, maintenance, project, contractor, and consultant teams.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
* Detail-focused approach with commitment to engineering quality, safety, compliance, and asset integrity.
* Experience in ADNOC standards, UAE oil and gas projects, EPC environments, or PMC coordination will be an advantage.
