Instrument Technician - Control Maintenance in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is an Oil and Energy opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician who can perform instrumentation and control maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, repair, and equipment health checks across oil and gas or petrochemical production facilities. This role supports ADNOC Group operations by ensuring field instruments, control valves, transmitters, control systems, workshop tools, and plant equipment remain safe, reliable, and aligned with approved maintenance procedures, HSE requirements, and operational KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform assigned instrumentation and control maintenance jobs according to risk assessments, approved procedures, work instructions, and ADNOC HSE requirements.
* Carry out scheduled predictive, preventive, and proactive maintenance on plant equipment to support safe and reliable asset performance.
* Troubleshoot and complete corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment independently with minimal supervision.
* Report completed job details through proper communication channels and update technical feedback in SAP notifications.
* Record time writing in SAP for all performed maintenance activities.
* Inspect equipment during routine field checks, identify abnormalities, and report defects to the relevant line or supervisor.
* Assist with major and minor repairs during critical equipment shutdowns and maintain accurate job data logs.
* Support commissioning and pre-commissioning activities for new projects and modified systems.
* Support plant operations during emergencies, shutdowns, shift operations, silent hours, and plant start-up activities.
* Participate in on-call support for unplanned shutdowns, process upsets, and urgent plant maintenance requirements.
* Conduct installation, modification, and testing of instrumentation and control equipment through planned stages.
* Verify technical parameters before handing equipment back to Operations.
* Troubleshoot, identify, and isolate faulty components using manufacturers’ manuals, drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
* Repair or replace defective parts, arrange required supplier parts and tools, and test equipment functionality after maintenance.
* Perform calibration of transmitters, troubleshooting of indications, valve stroking, and function checks on field instruments.
* Carry out control system health checks during silent hours and based on diagnostic alarms.
* Operate and maintain the instrument workshop, test benches, tools, equipment, instrument air supply, voltage levels, and housekeeping standards.
* Identify required spare parts from manufacturers’ drawings, equipment manuals, and spare parts lists.
* Follow HSE, fire safety, workshop safety, and housekeeping rules at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Instrument and Control discipline.
* Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment in oil and gas or petrochemical production facilities.
* Strong experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of control valves, transmitters, field instruments, and control systems.
* Thorough knowledge of HSE requirements for field maintenance jobs.
* Hands-on experience with SAP basic maintenance operations and computerized maintenance tools.
* Able to inspect and test equipment and circuits using wiring diagrams, ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and related testing devices.
* Good understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, shutdown maintenance, calibration, equipment isolation, and workshop practices.
* Able to read manufacturers’ manuals, drawings, diagrams, spare parts lists, and technical instructions.
* Effective English communication and technical report writing skills.
