Role Context

The Instrumentation Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence by ensuring instrumentation and control systems perform safely and efficiently across plant operations. The position supports productivity, uptime, and plant integrity through proactive maintenance strategies, reliability-centered maintenance, and continuous improvement of instrumentation assets.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance and Instrument Protective Function analysis to optimize maintenance strategies for instrumentation systems
* Develop and improve predictive, preventive, and major maintenance programs for plant equipment and control systems
* Introduce Root Cause Analysis techniques and lead equipment failure investigations for instrumentation-related incidents
* Provide technical guidelines and support for Root Cause Analysis methodology and reliability software applications
* Perform troubleshooting, design reviews, and failure analysis to identify corrective actions, modifications, and repair requirements
* Develop and implement the Reliability Management System for Instrumentation Engineering to ensure a structured and consistent reliability improvement process
* Support the development of comprehensive Maintenance Management Systems for instrumentation and control systems
* Maintain and enforce engineering codes of practice and ensure compliance with technical standards and operating procedures
* Establish and manage reliability, availability, and integrity threat databases for instrumentation assets
* Develop reliability and integrity improvement plans in coordination with maintenance leaders and plant managers
* Identify chronic equipment failure modes and recommend cost-effective long-term technical solutions
* Track and implement reliability recommendations to ensure successful deployment of plant improvement initiatives
* Review statutory requirements based on ADNOC standards, OEM recommendations, and international regulations to prepare procedures and work instructions
* Propose improvements in maintenance processes and operational procedures to reduce risks and improve plant safety standards
* Promote HSE excellence by supporting crisis management, risk registers, and safe workplace practices across all operations

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline
* Minimum 8 years of total experience in maintenance within petrochemical, oil and gas industries
* At least 4 years working as Senior Engineer in reliability engineering and troubleshooting
* Strong experience as Reliability Engineer in instrumentation and control systems
* Deep understanding of maintenance strategies, equipment reliability, and plant instrumentation performance
* Good knowledge of HSE policies applicable to petrochemical and chemical operations
* Experience with planning tools, reliability methodologies, and maintenance optimization techniques
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work across complex operational environments
* Fluent English communication skills both written and verbal
