Role Context

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring accurate testing and analysis of process streams, maintenance samples, and HSE-related materials to support plant operations and quality control. The position plays an important role in operational reliability by delivering precise laboratory data, maintaining testing standards, and supporting compliance with international laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests according to approved testing methods and international quality standards
* Collect plant samples using internationally accepted sampling procedures to ensure precise and reliable analysis
* Conduct testing for process streams, maintenance samples, and HSE-related laboratory requirements
* Enter analytical results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Business Object reporting software with high accuracy
* Prepare, standardize, and maintain chemical reagents used for daily laboratory operations and online analyzers
* Monitor laboratory instruments and report operational faults, abnormalities, or equipment damage to the shift supervisor
* Ensure correct implementation of sampling schedules and procedures for consistent and reliable results
* Carry out trial runs and functional checks on newly installed or repaired laboratory equipment and analyzers
* Support calibration activities for testing instruments and verify the accuracy of delivered laboratory apparatus
* Maintain inventory records for chemicals, calibration materials, gases, spares, and consumables to ensure timely replenishment
* Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain compliance with HSE standards during all testing activities
* Assist in continuous improvement of laboratory efficiency and testing reliability

Ideal Profile

* Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field
* Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations within oil and gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial environments
* Strong understanding of laboratory testing methods, chemical analysis, and sample handling procedures
* Familiarity with process stream analysis and industrial laboratory standards
* Experience using LIMS and computerized laboratory reporting systems
* Knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration procedures
* Good understanding of HSE standards and safe laboratory practices
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
* Ability to work effectively in shift-based industrial operations
