Role Context
The Lead Project Engineer will maintain technical control as projects move from definition into physical execution
Key Responsibilities
Leadership will cover both engineering quality and the practical coordination needed to advance project milestones.
* Direct project-engineering activities during FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
* Develop and review Statements of Requirement for assigned projects.
* Establish execution strategies that reflect technical scope, schedule and operational constraints.
* Prepare technical sections of tender documents for project-delivery services.
* Evaluate engineering consultants, PMC organizations and EPC contractors.
* Review contractor designs, calculations, specifications and technical submissions.
* Assess construction methodologies and execution plans before site implementation.
* Monitor engineering and field progress against approved cost and schedule baselines.
* Identify delivery bottlenecks and assign corrective actions to responsible parties.
* Lead value-engineering studies, constructability reviews and technical workshops.
* Coordinate project interfaces across Engineering, Operations and external organizations.
* Maintain alignment among licensors, contractors, vendors and third-party specialists.
* Chair or participate in design reviews, progress meetings and technical discussions.
* Monitor contractor performance and challenge incomplete or non-compliant deliverables.
* Coordinate invoice and cost reviews with project-control personnel.
* Examine contractor claims and support commercial negotiations.
* Assist with contract completion, settlement and formal close-out.
* Track changes, risks and trends that may affect project cost or schedule.
* Conduct project risk analysis and develop suitable mitigation actions.
* Lead Project HSE Reviews and required ATR assurance activities.
* Ensure compliance with ADNOC technical standards and Value Assurance Process requirements.
* Review project-level safety audit plans and monitor their implementation.
* Maintain engineering records, technical deliverables and final close-out reports.
* Provide accurate project information for management progress reviews.
* Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning priorities with contractors and Operations.
* Evaluate commissioning procedures, system-readiness plans and supporting documentation.
* Monitor punch-list clearance and verify completion before PAC issuance.
* Facilitate the formal transfer of completed facilities to Operations.
* Support plant start-up and confirm readiness for sustained operation.
Ideal Profile
Candidates must hold a Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering. The position requires substantial project-engineering expertise across FEED, EPC delivery, construction and commissioning within oil and gas facilities.
Applicants should have strong knowledge of engineering systems, contractor coordination and multidisciplinary project interfaces. The ideal professional will combine technical judgement with analytical, monitoring and stakeholder-communication capabilities. Experience controlling schedule, cost, quality and project risk is essential.
