Role Context
This role works closely with trading teams to provide legal support on daily transactions, contracts, and regulatory matters. It plays a key role in managing legal risks, ensuring compliance, and supporting commercial activities within a fast-paced trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice on crude oil and refined products trading activities
* Draft, review, and negotiate trading agreements including SPAs, GTCs, and framework contracts
* Advise on shipping and logistics matters such as charterparties and bills of lading
* Support trade finance documentation including letters of credit and security arrangements
* Provide guidance on regulatory, compliance, and risk-related matters
* Collaborate with traders, operators, and risk teams on transactions and dispute resolution
Ideal Profile
* Qualified lawyer with 2–3 years of post-qualification experience
* Experience in a law firm or in-house trading environment
* Exposure to commodities trading or shipping law preferred
* Strong understanding of oil and gas trading structures is advantageous
* Commercial mindset with ability to work closely with front-office teams
* Detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities
