Role Context
The Maintenance Planner provides structured planning and scheduling
support for major maintenance schemes, shutdowns and engineering activities. The position integrates requirements from Integrity, Production, Projects, Maintenance Support and other stakeholders into coordinated short- and long-term execution plans. By maintaining visibility of schedules, resources, materials, budgets and offshore logistics, the role helps reduce operational conflicts, improve shutdown readiness and support safe execution of maintenance campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop overall maintenance and shutdown plans covering major schemes, campaigns and individual work activities.
* Coordinate with Integrity, Production, Projects, Maintenance Support and other stakeholders to consolidate planning requirements.
* Prepare short-term and long-term maintenance work programs aligned with approved business plans.
* Develop and maintain the Seven-Year Integrated Activity Plan for engineering and maintenance activities.
* Incorporate major schemes, inspections, overhauls, shutdowns and offshore logistics into integrated planning schedules.
* Maintain barge and boat activity plans required to support offshore maintenance execution.
* Develop and update maintenance barge schedules based on operational priorities and work demand.
* Coordinate Wellhead Tower maintenance campaigns and establish integrated worklists.
* Prepare execution schedules for Wellhead Tower major maintenance activities.
* Develop and update bedding plans based on scheme schedules and offshore accommodation requirements.
* Coordinate bedding requirements with individual job officers and relevant operational teams.
* Prepare and monitor major maintenance budgets and associated expenditure phasing.
* Track planned versus actual maintenance expenditure and highlight material variances.
* Monitor progress against approved work programs and identify schedule deviations.
* Assess the impact of delays or changes on interconnected maintenance and engineering programs.
* Recommend corrective actions to minimize disruption to other planned activities.
* Coordinate with planning and cost teams to monitor schedule duration, target dates, resources and materials.
* Liaise with Commercial Division personnel to ensure required materials are identified and available for planned work.
* Track critical resource requirements affecting shutdown and maintenance execution.
* Coordinate preparation activities with shutdown committees and relevant stakeholders.
* Support shutdown readiness reviews and ensure outstanding planning actions are clearly identified.
* Maintain effective communication with Field, Operations Support, Production Assurance, Maintenance and Engineering departments.
* Coordinate with offshore and Abu Dhabi-based teams regarding shutdown preparation and execution requirements.
* Participate in meetings with contractors to clarify work requirements and review performance.
* Support site visits and coordination with concession stakeholders when required.
* Prepare progress updates, planning reports and management information for maintenance activities.
* Provide inputs for Section MIS and performance reporting.
* Develop planning tools and techniques that improve schedule visibility and execution efficiency.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance planning processes in line with recognized industry practices.
* Support team development by guiding assigned staff in planning, scheduling and coordination practices.
* Maintain compliance with approved HSE, sustainability, operational and procedural requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s Degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
* Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in multidisciplinary planning of Engineering and Maintenance activities.
* Previous experience within the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry is required.
* Strong understanding of shutdown and turnaround planning principles.
* Experience developing integrated maintenance schedules and long-range activity plans.
* Practical knowledge of offshore maintenance logistics and resource coordination.
* Ability to plan engineering schemes, major maintenance activities and inspection campaigns.
* Experience coordinating maintenance barges, offshore resources and accommodation requirements.
