Key Responsibilities
* Gather supplier, commodity, pricing and market information from approved external market intelligence providers.
* Consolidate internal commercial data to create a reliable foundation for supplier and market analysis.
* Extract and evaluate information from systems including MAXIMO, e-Registration and Commercial Directory Data Sharing.
* Conduct independent market research when existing internal or external information requires further validation.
* Compare multiple data sources, resolve inconsistencies and establish dependable market intelligence conclusions.
* Develop recommendations based on supplier dynamics, pricing behavior, cost drivers and category trends.
* Coordinate closely with Subject Matter Experts and external data providers to support commercial planning objectives.
* Prepare periodic reports covering market movements, supplier developments, category trends and cost structures.
* Develop supplier monographs that summarize capabilities, positioning, market presence and relevant commercial indicators.
* Work with category management teams to understand upcoming sourcing activities and align intelligence priorities accordingly.
* Conduct detailed should-cost analysis for products, services and procurement categories.
* Perform price analysis and forecasting to support tendering and commercial evaluation activities.
* Establish pricing benchmarks that can be applied during supplier negotiations and tender assessments.
* Analyze underlying cost structures and identify factors influencing supplier pricing.
* Provide market insights that support development of category strategies and procurement approaches.
* Contribute intelligence and recommendations to tender strategy development.
* Support commercial evaluation processes with supplier market analysis and pricing context.
* Maintain standardized commodity price forecasts for use across relevant commercial and project functions.
* Act as a focal point with project pricing and estimation teams regarding commodity price assumptions and forecasts.
* Maintain a unified supplier database to improve visibility of supplier capabilities and qualification status.
* Coordinate with Supplier Registration and Pre-qualification teams to monitor supplier onboarding and approval progress.
* Support identification and assessment of new suppliers required for future sourcing needs.
* Conduct primary and customized research focused on emerging technologies and supplier innovation.
* Coordinate technology-focused intelligence with technical departments and innovation programs.
* Identify market developments that could create cost, supply, technology or procurement opportunities.
* Track changes in supplier markets that may influence sourcing strategies, commercial negotiations or procurement risk.
* Improve market intelligence methodologies, databases and reporting practices to strengthen analytical quality.
* Provide clear findings and recommendations to commercial stakeholders through structured reports and presentations.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor Degree in Management, Economics or a related discipline.
* Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
* Strong background in market intelligence, procurement analytics, commercial research or supplier market analysis.
* Demonstrated experience gathering and validating data from multiple internal and external sources.
* Strong understanding of supplier markets, commercial trends and procurement decision-making.
* Experience conducting cost structure, should-cost and pricing analysis.
* Ability to develop pricing benchmarks and commodity price forecasts.
* Practical knowledge of category management and tendering processes.
* Experience supporting commercial evaluations with market and supplier intelligence.
* Familiarity with supplier registration and pre-qualification processes.
* Working knowledge of enterprise and commercial systems such as MAXIMO.
* Strong quantitative, analytical and research capabilities.
* Ability to identify inconsistencies in data and develop evidence-based conclusions.
* Experience preparing supplier profiles, market reports and category intelligence.
* Strong communication skills for working with Subject Matter Experts, commercial teams and external information providers.
