Role Context
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor
provides field leadership for maintenance activities involving critical rotating and static equipment used throughout Oil and Gas processing operations. The position coordinates technicians, diagnoses complex equipment faults, verifies completed work and supports major overhauls while ensuring that jobs are completed safely and within planned timeframes. Strong technical oversight of compressors, pumps, vessels, separators, heat exchangers and valves helps reduce unplanned downtime and sustain reliable plant operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and supervise preventive, corrective, breakdown and shutdown mechanical maintenance activities on plant equipment.
* Obtain required work permits before starting maintenance and verify that worksite conditions meet approved safety requirements.
* Arrange transportation, materials, spare parts, tools and maintenance equipment required for each assignment.
* Allocate work to mechanical technicians according to job complexity, priorities and available resources.
* Assist technicians in diagnosing complex mechanical faults affecting rotating and static equipment.
* Analyze equipment failure information and operating data to determine likely causes and appropriate corrective actions.
* Inspect completed mechanical work and conduct required testing before equipment is returned to operation.
* Carry out routine inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance programs.
* Replace worn, damaged or defective components when condition monitoring or inspection indicates deterioration.
* Perform and supervise major equipment overhauls and assess repair or replacement requirements.
* Participate in run-off load and stream testing of rotating equipment following maintenance or overhaul.
* Support maintenance of high-speed turbo compressors, process pumps and associated rotating machinery.
* Maintain static equipment including pressure vessels, separators, heat exchangers and industrial valves.
* Review maintenance method statements and verify that work methods are technically suitable.
* Prepare and evaluate Job Safety Analysis for routine and non-routine mechanical activities.
* Conduct toolbox talks before work begins and communicate hazards, control measures and job responsibilities.
* Monitor job progress against assigned time standards and escalate resource shortages that could delay completion.
* Inform supervisors when additional manpower, materials, specialist support or equipment are required.
* Maintain company-issued tools and safety equipment in reliable working condition.
* Arrange repair or replacement of defective tools and maintenance equipment.
* Collect technical field data to support equipment history, maintenance analysis and future planning.
* Prepare daily maintenance reports documenting faults, completed work, materials used, labor requirements and job duration.
* Contribute to progress reports, maintenance method statements and Near Miss documentation.

* Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for new or modified mechanical equipment.
* Use ERP and computerized maintenance systems such as SAP and Maximo to support work order and equipment management.

* Conduct team discussions to share equipment incidents, technical findings and lessons learned.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance procedures, equipment reliability and work execution methods.
* Participate in emergency response activities when required.
* Maintain good housekeeping before, during and after mechanical maintenance work.
* Provide on-the-job coaching to UAE National employees participating in competency development programs.

Ideal Profile
* B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a recognized Diploma Certificate in a relevant mechanical discipline.
* Minimum 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience within a large industrial organization.
* Previous Oil and Gas industry experience is strongly preferred.
* Extensive practical knowledge of rotating and static equipment maintenance.
* Hands-on experience with high-speed turbo compressors and industrial pumps.
* Strong knowledge of pressure vessels, separators, heat exchangers and valves.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures using technical and operating data.
* Experience supervising major equipment overhauls and determining repair or replacement requirements.
* Ability to review method statements and Job Safety Analysis documentation.
