Role Context

The Mechanical Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence across plant equipment and systems by ensuring asset integrity, uptime, and long-term performance. The position supports production continuity by reducing equipment failures, improving maintenance effectiveness, and implementing engineering solutions that strengthen plant reliability and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance activities to optimize maintenance strategies for plant systems and rotating equipment
* Develop and improve predictive, preventive, and shutdown maintenance programs for mechanical assets
* Support reliability, availability, and integrity improvement plans in coordination with maintenance managers and engineering leads
* Perform troubleshooting and lead root cause analysis for equipment failures, identifying corrective actions and sustainable solutions
* Introduce and guide advanced Root Cause Analysis methodologies and investigation techniques for maintenance teams
* Maintain compliance with ADNOC codes of practice, OEM recommendations, and international engineering standards
* Review statutory requirements and prepare procedures, work instructions, and maintenance checklists for plant activities
* Propose process improvements that reduce operational risk and improve equipment safety and reliability
* Develop and implement Mechanical Reliability Management Systems for structured asset performance monitoring
* Assist in building comprehensive maintenance management systems for machinery and equipment
* Establish reliability and integrity threat databases for better tracking of recurring failures and asset performance
* Conduct FMEA studies and identify chronic equipment failure patterns to recommend long-term cost-effective improvements
* Track implementation of reliability recommendations and ensure improvement plans are completed effectively
* Coordinate machinery studies, load projections, and technical procedures with ADNOC Group entities for operational consistency
* Promote HSE excellence and ensure all maintenance and reliability activities align with plant safety standards

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 8 years of maintenance and reliability experience in petrochemical, oil and gas, or heavy industrial environments
* At least 4 years of experience as a Senior Engineer in reliability engineering and troubleshooting
* Strong understanding of maintenance strategies for rotating and static equipment
* Good knowledge of HSE standards applicable to petrochemical and oil and gas operations
* Familiarity with reliability engineering methodologies, plant integrity programs, and maintenance optimization tools
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex operational challenges
* Excellent coordination and communication skills for cross-functional technical collaboration
* Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
