Mechanical Technician - Plant Maintenance in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is an Oil and Energy opportunity for an experienced mechanical maintenance professional who can perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, troubleshooting, shutdown support, equipment testing, and workshop activities across oil and gas or petrochemical production facilities. This role supports ADNOC Group operations by ensuring rotating equipment, static equipment, lifting equipment, and mechanical workshop tools are maintained safely, reliably, and in line with approved procedures, HSE requirements, OEM standards, and operational KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform assigned mechanical maintenance jobs according to risk assessments, approved work instructions, and ADNOC HSE procedures.
* Carry out scheduled predictive, preventive, and proactive maintenance on plant equipment to support safe and reliable operation.
* Troubleshoot and complete corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment independently with minimal supervision.
* Report assigned job status through proper communication channels and provide technical feedback in SAP notifications.
* Record time writing in SAP for all completed maintenance activities.
* Inspect equipment during routine checks, identify abnormalities, and report defects to the relevant line or supervisor.
* Assist with major and minor repairs during critical equipment shutdowns and maintain accurate job data logs.
* Propose improvement ideas to enhance HSE performance, maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and work efficiency.
* Support commissioning and pre-commissioning activities for new projects and modified equipment.
* Support plant operations during emergencies, shutdowns, silent hours, plant start-up, and process upset situations.
* Participate in on-call support arrangements for unplanned shutdowns and urgent equipment issues.
* Operate, repair, and perform functional testing of lifting equipment according to recognized standards.
* Participate in machinery condition monitoring checks and report malfunctions or defects to the immediate engineer.
* Conduct new installations, modifications, and testing of equipment through planned stages before handover to Operations.
* Troubleshoot, identify, and isolate faulty components on rotating and static equipment using manuals, drawings, and diagrams.
* Perform shutdown maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on rotating and static equipment.
* Operate and maintain the mechanical workshop, including lubrication checks, gauge checks, tool care, and equipment readiness.
* Maintain strong housekeeping standards in the workshop and workplace.
* Identify spare parts required for maintenance work using manufacturer drawings, O and M manuals, and spare parts lists.
* Follow HSE, fire safety, quality, and maintenance procedures at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
* Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of equipment in oil and gas or petrochemical production facilities.
* Practical experience with rotating equipment, static equipment, lifting equipment, mechanical tools, and workshop maintenance activities.
* Strong troubleshooting ability with knowledge of mechanical equipment faults, repairs, overhauls, and functional testing.
* Familiar with standard plant safety procedures and quality maintenance procedures.
* Thorough knowledge of HSE requirements for field maintenance jobs.
* Working knowledge of operation and maintenance manuals, engineering documents, drawings, and technical diagrams.
* Able to inspect equipment, identify abnormal conditions, and follow documentation and reporting procedures.
* Hands-on experience with basic office software such as MS Windows, MS Office, or similar tools.
* Effective English communication and technical report writing skills.
* Safety-focused, reliable, and able to coordinate with supervisors, contractors, operations teams, and external service providers.
