Role Context
The Multidiscipline Inspector - Oil and Gas will support third-party inspection and verification activities across multiple technical disciplines, including welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping, hydro testing, and advanced NDT. The role is important for ensuring that project activities are inspected, documented, and approved in line with client specifications, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and project quality procedures.
This position contributes to reliable project delivery by combining technical inspection expertise, multidisciplinary coordination, risk assessment, report writing, equipment knowledge, procedure review, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out multidisciplinary inspection and verification activities for onshore and offshore oil and gas and petrochemical projects.
* Inspect welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping, hydro testing, and related industrial work scopes.
* Review and assess NDT procedures, advanced NDT methods, inspection records, and supporting technical documentation.
* Support review and approval of multidisciplinary ITPs, project procedures, site queries, NCRs, and concession requests.
* Verify inspection activities against approved standards, client specifications, regulatory requirements, and project quality plans.
* Identify defects, non-compliance issues, documentation gaps, safety concerns, and technical deviations during inspection work.
* Prepare clear inspection reports, verification notes, quality observations, corrective action records, and technical summaries.
* Coordinate with QA-QC teams, engineering departments, contractors, client representatives, and site personnel.
* Apply risk assessment, safety standards, and regulatory compliance awareness during daily inspection activities.
* Support client interaction through accurate reporting, professional communication, and timely technical clarification.
* Review equipment operation, test records, inspection results, and project closeout documents as required.
* Maintain strong inspection discipline while managing multiple technical scopes across complex project environments.
Ideal Profile
* Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
* 10-15 years of experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas or petrochemical inspection environments.
* Strong background in third-party inspection and verification activities.
* Practical experience in welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping, hydro testing, and advanced NDT methods.
* Ability to assess NDT procedures and review technical inspection documents.
* Experience reviewing and approving multidisciplinary ITPs, procedures, site queries, NCRs, and concession requests.
* CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, ERS welding inspection, or equivalent welding inspection certification is desirable.
* PCN Level II qualification is preferred.
* BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification is an advantage.
* Strong report writing, regulatory compliance, client interaction, and technical communication skills.
* Good problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
* Indian candidates are preferred as this opportunity is exclusively open to India candidates.
