Role Context
The Multidiscipline NDT Technician will support oil and gas inspection activities by carrying out different testing methods used to verify weld quality, material condition, surface defects, and equipment reliability. The role is important for helping project teams detect defects early, maintain inspection quality, and complete technical verification work safely and accurately.
This position contributes to reliable project execution by combining ASNT Level II certification, NDT field experience, data interpretation, technical reporting, equipment calibration, and practical inspection knowledge across multiple testing methods.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing on piping, pipelines, equipment, welds, and related oil and gas components.
* Support PMI and hardness testing activities where required by project scope.
* Carry out NDT inspection work according to approved procedures, project specifications, and quality control requirements.
* Check testing equipment, probes, consumables, calibration status, and inspection surfaces before starting assigned work.
* Identify defects, discontinuities, relevant indications, and reportable findings based on applicable acceptance criteria.
* Interpret inspection data accurately and prepare clear technical reports for review.
* Maintain inspection records, test results, calibration references, and supporting documentation.
* Coordinate with supervisors, QA-QC teams, NDT personnel, and project representatives during daily inspection activities.
* Follow site safety procedures, permit requirements, and approved inspection methods during all field work.
* Assist with visual inspection activities and support inspection readiness for project components.
* Troubleshoot basic equipment or testing issues during site inspection activities.
* Complete assigned inspection tasks within project timelines while maintaining accuracy, safety, and professional discipline.
Ideal Profile
* Minimum 10th, HSC, or equivalent qualification with relevant technical certification.
* ASNT Level II certification in UT, MT, and PT is required.
* 5-8 years of experience in multidiscipline NDT inspection work.
* Practical experience in UT, MPT, PT, PMI, and HT inspection activities.
* Previous experience in oil and gas inspection work on piping, pipelines, and equipment is preferred.
* Good communication skills for coordination with inspection teams, supervisors, and project personnel.
* Strong knowledge of ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing, visual inspection, and equipment calibration.
* Ability to interpret inspection data and prepare accurate reports.
* Strong attention to detail when identifying defects and recording technical findings.
* Ability to work safely in structured industrial site environments.
