Role Context
The PAUT Supervisor - NDT Inspection will oversee phased array ultrasonic testing activities across assigned inspection projects. This role connects advanced NDT expertise with field supervision, ensuring technicians follow approved procedures, inspection results are accurate, demonstrations are properly conducted, and all reports are completed with strong technical reliability.
The position is important for maintaining inspection quality, reducing project risk, improving team performance, and supporting client confidence in complex oil and gas inspection work.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise PAUT inspection activities for oil and gas, petroleum, power, and industrial projects.
* Lead phased array ultrasonic testing demonstrations for different inspection applications as required by project scope.
* Ensure PAUT work is performed according to approved procedures, client specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
* Guide technicians and inspection teams during field execution, technical setup, scanning, data collection, and reporting.
* Review inspection data, technical findings, and reports for accuracy before submission.
* Coordinate with project managers, quality teams, clients, and site personnel to maintain smooth inspection workflow.
* Support planning of manpower, equipment, inspection schedules, and daily work priorities.
* Monitor team performance and provide technical direction where inspection challenges arise.
* Resolve operational issues through practical problem-solving and timely communication.
* Maintain proper documentation for inspection records, demonstration results, reports, and compliance requirements.
* Support training and knowledge sharing for team members involved in PAUT activities.
* Ensure assigned project work is completed on time while maintaining high standards of accuracy and discipline.
Ideal Profile
* BE, B.Tech, or Diploma qualification in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
* 2-3 years of relevant supervisory or advanced PAUT inspection experience.
* ISO 9712 or PCN Level 3 certification in PAUT is required.
* Strong experience in phased array ultrasonic testing performance and demonstrations across different applications.
* Previous exposure to oil and gas, power, testing, inspection, certification, or industrial inspection environments is preferred.
* Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and maintain site discipline.
* Good communication skills for client coordination, reporting, and technical discussions.
* Ability to solve inspection-related issues and make practical decisions under project pressure.
* Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach to inspection review and documentation.
* Good organizational and time management skills.
