Role Context
The PCN MPT PT Technician - NDT Inspection will support inspection and testing activities for oil and gas assets by carrying out magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing support, positive material identification, and hardness testing where required. The role helps project teams verify weld quality, material condition, surface defects, and equipment reliability before acceptance, maintenance decisions, or further operational use.
This position contributes to safe and reliable project delivery by combining NDT inspection skills, PCN certification, ASNT Level 2 knowledge, equipment handling, technical documentation, defect identification, and field coordination.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform magnetic particle testing and penetrant testing on piping, pipelines, equipment, welds, and related oil and gas components.
* Support ultrasonic testing, positive material identification, and hardness testing activities as required by project scope.
* Carry out NDT inspection work in line with approved procedures, client specifications, and quality control requirements.
* Check equipment readiness, calibration status, consumables, inspection surfaces, and safety conditions before testing.
* Identify surface defects, discontinuities, relevant indications, and reportable findings based on applicable acceptance criteria.
* Prepare inspection records, test results, technical reports, and supporting documentation accurately.
* Coordinate with supervisors, QA-QC teams, NDT personnel, and project representatives during daily inspection activities.
* Maintain clear communication with team members to support safe and efficient inspection execution.
* Follow site safety rules, permit requirements, and inspection procedures during all assigned work.
* Assist in troubleshooting inspection or equipment-related issues during field operations.
* Maintain proper handling of testing tools, inspection materials, and technical records.
* Complete assigned inspection work within project timelines while maintaining accuracy, quality, and professional discipline.
Ideal Profile
* Minimum HSC, 12th standard, or equivalent qualification with relevant technical certification.
* ASNT Level 2 certification in UT is required.
* PCN certification in MPT and PT is required.
* 2-3 years of post-certification experience in UT, MPT, PT, PMI, and HT inspection activities.
* Experience in oil and gas inspection work on piping, pipelines, and equipment is preferred.
* Good communication skills for coordination with inspection teams, supervisors, and project personnel.
* Practical knowledge of MPT and PT testing techniques, equipment calibration, and inspection documentation.
* Ability to identify defects and record inspection findings with strong attention to detail.
* Basic troubleshooting ability for testing equipment and inspection-related issues.
* Strong awareness of quality control, safety procedures, and field inspection discipline.
