Role Context

The Petroleum Development Engineer is responsible for supporting field development by coordinating drilling operations, optimizing well productivity, and ensuring effective production and injection strategies. The role contributes directly to production targets by managing technical studies, evaluating artificial lift systems, and ensuring reliable well performance across assigned assets.

Key Responsibilities

* Generate completion concepts and define completion requirements aligned with production and injection strategies for wells
* Support pilot hole data acquisition planning, execution, and evaluation for drilling and reservoir development activities
* Identify opportunities for production optimization and improve production system efficiency
* Perform artificial lift design for oil producers and recommend the most effective lift solutions
* Finalize well testing strategies, monitor testing activities, and evaluate test results for production improvement
* Monitor daily well performance, diagnose operational issues, and recommend optimization opportunities
* Conduct nodal analysis for production system optimization and support pressure transient analysis for reservoir teams
* Monitor drilling activities closely, identify operational concerns, and provide technical support for smooth drilling execution
* Maintain complete well databases including operational history, well tests, pressure data, and optimization activities
* Ensure planned well programs are followed and report required deviations for technical approval
* Recommend and plan special tests or pilot projects before field-wide implementation
* Conduct engineering studies for debottlenecking existing facilities and improving production capacity
* Investigate production technology challenges and recommend technical solutions using advanced equipment and testing methods
* Review and support implementation of new technologies related to production, injection, and artificial lift systems
* Prepare monthly production and injection potential reports based on flow tests, rig activity, and commissioning schedules
* Establish priorities for opening depleted wells while maintaining reservoir balance and production targets
* Monitor gas and water injection activities to ensure compliance with required specifications and quantities

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 8 years of experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering operations
* Strong experience in drilling operations, production optimization, and field development planning
* Knowledge of artificial lift systems, well testing, and production diagnostics
* Experience with nodal analysis, pressure transient analysis, and reservoir performance support
* Familiarity with drilling operations coordination and field production monitoring
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for production and injection system optimization
* Ability to coordinate with drilling teams, operations, contractors, and technical stakeholders
