The position contributes to production reliability, reservoir performance understanding, and field optimization by preparing operational programs, monitoring well behavior, evaluating test results, maintaining well history data, and recommending practical actions to improve oil, gas, water, and injection performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare technical programs for rigless operations, perforation, kick-off operations, stimulation, and well testing activities.
* Coordinate with service companies to ensure rigless programs are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with approved procedures.
* Prepare programs for multi-rate production tests, injection tests, isochronal tests, and modified isochronal tests.
* Supervise well testing operations and carry out preliminary interpretation and evaluation of test results.
* Follow up and supervise wireline operations performed by contractors.
* Verify wireline reports and forward findings to asset development teams for further review and action.
* Supervise production logging activities and complete preliminary log interpretation.
* Evaluate production logging and well test results to identify performance trends, anomalies, and improvement needs.
* Monitor oil and gas producing wells, water supply wells, water injection wells, and gas injection wells.
* Investigate and diagnose well performance issues and propose suitable corrective actions.
* Recommend workover requirements for specific wells with clear prognosis, technical justification, and production improvement rationale.
* Coordinate and supervise downhole equipment testing, inspection, and maintenance activities.
* Review water injection cluster performance and discuss long-term injection test outcomes with concerned engineering teams.
* Monitor and review performance of installed production equipment.
* Participate in technical studies related to water injection, gas injection, artificial lift, oil operations, gas operations, and facilities optimization.
* Support studies for facility modification, production improvement, and well performance enhancement when assigned.
* Maintain a comprehensive database covering well history, oil production, gas production, water production, water injection, and gas injection statistics.
* Participate in developing operating, reporting, and recording procedures for oil, gas, and water production or injection performance.
* Provide technical support to field operations for hydrocarbon production and efficient use of water and gas injection systems.
* Work with operations, asset development, reservoir, production, and service company teams to improve well performance and operational reliability.
* Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company HSE standards, operational procedures, and safe field practices.
* Prepare technical inputs, well performance updates, and operational observations for management and engineering review.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
* Minimum 8 years of petroleum engineering experience.
* Strong background in workover, completion, well testing, production operations, and rigless well activities.
* Practical experience preparing and supervising rigless operations, stimulation, perforation, kick-off operations, and well testing programs.
* Knowledge of production and injection well performance monitoring.
* Experience with multi-rate tests, production tests, injection tests, isochronal tests, and modified isochronal tests.
* Ability to interpret preliminary well test results, production logs, well history, and field performance data.
* Experience supervising wireline contractors, service companies, downhole equipment testing, and field execution activities.
* Understanding of oil and gas producing wells, water injection systems, gas injection systems, artificial lift projects, and production optimization.
