Position Overview

ADNOC Group is hiring a Plant Operator - Process Operations in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, for an operational opportunity within the Oil and Energy industry. The position will operate, inspect and monitor assigned process plant facilities while maintaining safe production conditions and compliance with approved operating procedures.

The successful candidate will control process parameters, identify equipment abnormalities and prepare machinery for planned maintenance. This hands-on role requires practical oil and gas plant experience, disciplined HSE awareness and the ability to respond correctly during routine operations, startups, shutdowns and emergency situations.

Role Context

The Plant Operator - Process Operations maintains stable and efficient operating conditions across assigned production facilities. By monitoring equipment behaviour and controlling temperature, pressure, speed and flow, the operator helps prevent process disruption and protects the continuity of plant output.

Accurate field observations are essential to this position. Early identification of leaks, abnormal noise, vibration or changing operating conditions allows technical teams to intervene before an issue affects production, safety or equipment reliability. The role also supports safe maintenance execution by isolating and preparing plant systems according to authorized procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Daily activities involve field monitoring, process adjustment, equipment preparation and continuous coordination with the reporting supervisor.

* Perform assigned plant operations safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
* Conduct scheduled field rounds and check machinery, instruments, pipelines and related process facilities for abnormal conditions.
* Observe operating readings and report equipment defects, leakage, vibration, unusual noise or performance changes without delay.
* Coordinate with the supervisor and maintenance teams when equipment requires inspection, servicing or repair.
* Adjust operating speeds, temperatures, pressures and flow rates within authorized limits to maintain stable plant conditions.
* Follow approved sequences during plant and equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers and operational restoration.
* Prepare process equipment for maintenance through isolation, draining, depressurization, purging and other approved safety measures.
* Confirm that equipment preparation is synchronized with connected plant systems before maintenance work begins.
* Operate assigned machinery and process equipment safely, efficiently and within established operating parameters.
* Receive process chemicals and verify that deliveries meet the required operational specifications.
* Maintain accurate records covering chemical stock levels, receipts, consumption and remaining quantities.
* Prepare chemical batches according to approved instructions while following handling, storage and HSE requirements.
* Obtain the necessary work permits and monitor the status of maintenance or contractor activities in the assigned area.
* Verify that contractors follow permit conditions, approved method statements and site safety procedures.
* Maintain compliance with safety, quality and environmental management controls during every operational activity.
* Communicate plant conditions, pending work, abnormalities and operational priorities during shift handovers.
* Follow supervisor instructions and provide timely updates when operating circumstances change.
* Assist with emergency response duties as an Auxiliary Fireman or Site Safety Officer when assigned under the Facility Response Plan.
* Respond promptly to alarms, process disturbances and emergency instructions within the limits of authorized responsibility.
* Maintain housekeeping standards around plant equipment, operating areas, access routes and chemical storage locations.
* Complete operating logs, inspection records and shift documentation with accurate field information.
* Prepare Key Performance Indicator commitment checklists and related operational information for management review.
* Support safe, reliable and environmentally responsible production across the assigned facility.

Ideal Profile

This role is suitable for a safety-conscious plant operator who can remain attentive during routine field work and act decisively when operating conditions become abnormal. The preferred candidate understands the importance of procedural discipline and can coordinate effectively with supervisors, control room personnel, maintenance technicians and contractors.

Candidates should possess:

* Technical Diploma in a relevant discipline or a Secondary School Certificate.
* At least four years of plant operations experience within a large industrial facility in the oil and gas sector.
* Practical understanding of process equipment, operating parameters and field inspection routines.
* Experience supporting plant startups, shutdowns, isolations and maintenance preparation.
* Ability to recognize abnormal equipment conditions and communicate observations accurately.
* Familiarity with work permit systems and contractor safety monitoring.
* Knowledge of chemical receiving, handling, batch preparation and inventory recording.
* Awareness of industrial emergency response and facility safety requirements.
* Willingness to work within operational shift arrangements where required.
* Relevant professional certification where applicable to the assigned facility.
