Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor process plant systems and facilities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Complete assigned operational activities safely and according to approved technical standards.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify abnormal operating conditions.
- Report equipment defects and coordinate with the responsible supervisor to arrange servicing or maintenance.
- Monitor and adjust operating parameters, including speed, temperature, pressure and flow rate.
- Support safe and effective plant start-up and shutdown activities.
- Prepare plant systems and equipment for maintenance while ensuring proper isolation and coordination.
- Receive process chemicals and maintain accurate stock and consumption records.
- Prepare chemical batches according to operational requirements and established HSE procedures.
- Operate associated machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Obtain required work permits and follow up on work performed within the assigned area.
- Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and site procedures.
- Maintain compliance with applicable safety, quality and environmental management policies.
- Perform emergency duties as an Auxiliary Fireman or Site Safety Officer when required under the Facility Response Plan.
- Follow supervisory instructions and communicate operational information clearly and promptly.
- Prepare operational and key performance indicator checklists for management review.
Ideal Profile
- Technical Diploma in a relevant discipline or Secondary School Certificate.
- Minimum four years of plant operations experience within a large industrial facility.
- Previous operational experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
- Sound understanding of process equipment, operating parameters and plant safety requirements.
- Ability to detect abnormal equipment conditions and respond according to established procedures.
- Familiarity with work permits, equipment isolation and maintenance preparation.
- Willingness to perform emergency response and site safety duties when required.
- Relevant professional certification where applicable.

Role Context
This position supports continuous plant availability by maintaining process conditions within approved limits and identifying operational abnormalities before they affect production. The operator will coordinate with supervisors, maintenance teams and contractors while preparing equipment for servicing, managing chemicals and supporting controlled start-up and shutdown activities.
Key Responsibilities
