Role Context
The Principal QHSES Assurance Specialist provides high-level assurance expertise for management systems, audit programs, quality performance, certification readiness, and continual improvement initiatives. The role helps convert audit findings, performance trends, customer feedback, and system data into practical improvement actions that reduce recurring deficiencies and strengthen operational control. By working with functional leads, department heads, external auditors, and corporate IMS teams, this position supports stronger governance, better compliance visibility, improved quality education, and more consistent project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, review, and improve procedures, work instructions, manuals, and quality system documents.
* Support revisions to standard manuals and assist with management review meeting preparation.
* Coordinate activities related to external surveillance visits, certification reviews, quality audits, and compliance follow-up.
* Liaise with internal departments and external entities on quality-related matters requiring specialist assurance input.
* Assist in managing continual improvement processes by working with department heads to set targets, review audit feedback, and implement preventive measures.
* Develop and monitor area audit plans in consultation with Functional Leads, Manager Assurance, and Corporate IMS teams.
* Identify and execute continuous improvement projects that improve process effectiveness, efficiency, and assurance maturity.
* Prepare data for annual management reviews, including system effectiveness, recurring deficiencies, performance trends, and improvement opportunities.
* Support organizational readiness for external certifications, external awards, and management system recognition programs.
* Assist with gap analysis, evidence preparation, documentation presentation, and audit response planning.
* Accompany external auditors during surveillance audits, support audit communication, follow up actions, and help maintain licenses.
* Conduct or support external surveillance audit activities and ensure findings are addressed with proper documentation.
* Oversee KPI, QI, and performance quality processes, including global-level trend analysis and operating unit benchmarking.
* Analyze measurement data to support target setting, future planning, action plan development, and compliance verification.
* Initiate ground-level documentation that captures benchmarks, lessons learned, and practical improvement actions across operating units.
* Conduct quality education sessions for employees and support future training planning for new team members.
* Develop quality training material when required to improve awareness, system understanding, and procedural compliance.
* Assist in conducting customer satisfaction surveys and analyzing feedback for improvement opportunities.
* Lead functional teams or assurance projects when required and provide specialist guidance on complex QHSES assurance matters.
* Work independently with minimal guidance while ensuring all assurance activities remain aligned with company policies, procedures, and management system requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in EPC construction, fabrication, quality assurance, QHSES assurance, integrated management systems, or related energy project environments.
* ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, or other globally recognized Quality Management Systems Internal Auditor training.
* Strong working knowledge of management systems, audit planning, external surveillance audits, quality performance, certification readiness, and continual improvement.
* Ability to act as both a team member and a functional team leader.
* Strong decision-making skills with the ability to solve complex assurance-related problems independently.
* Good understanding of business demands in a changing EPC, fabrication, and energy project environment.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills for evaluating trend data, audit findings, KPI performance, and recurring quality issues.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for working tactfully with department heads, functional leads, auditors, corporate teams, and operating units.
* Strong written and spoken communication skills with confident presentation ability.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* High attention to detail when reviewing procedures, work instructions, audit evidence, reports, and management review data.
* Skilled at prioritizing multiple assurance activities, deadlines, audits, and improvement initiatives.
