Role Context
The Principal Sustainability Specialist plays a strategic role in embedding sustainability practices across operations, fabrication, marine assets, and project delivery. This position ensures alignment between business line execution and corporate sustainability goals while driving measurable progress in emissions reduction, energy management, social responsibility, and governance standards. The role directly supports long-term business resilience, compliance, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive sustainability initiatives across business line operations, projects, and corporate sustainability programs
* Work directly with leadership, operations teams, and project managers to establish and promote sustainability goals
* Support management in identifying and implementing initiatives aligned with corporate sustainability strategy and ESG objectives
* Develop technical studies, sustainability reports, and plans covering GHG emissions, energy efficiency, circularity, and life cycle assessments
* Manage and improve ISO 50001 certified energy management systems for fabrication and marine assets
* Oversee sustainability deliverables related to social responsibility including human rights due diligence, worker welfare, and social investment plans
* Review bids and proposals for sustainability requirements and provide guidance to commercial, legal, operations, and project teams
* Contribute to decarbonization strategies for fabrication facilities and marine operations
* Support sustainability data management through measurement, tracking, analysis, and reporting of emissions and social impact data
* Assist in preparing annual sustainability reports and other corporate ESG disclosures
* Promote awareness, communication, and engagement around sustainability strategies and company goals
* Participate in approved industry partnerships and sustainability collaborations supporting corporate objectives
* Partner with corporate sustainability teams to improve systems, processes, and decision-making frameworks
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline
* Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, fabrication, construction, marine operations, or sustainability leadership
* Strong knowledge of sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, emissions reduction, and energy management systems
* Experience managing ISO 50001 or similar certified energy management programs
* Strong understanding of decarbonization strategies and operational sustainability within industrial environments
* Experience supporting project bids, compliance requirements, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across global teams
* Fluent English communication with flexibility to work across multiple international time zones
