Role Context
Commissioning is the controlled transition between completed construction work
Key Responsibilities
Site execution must remain coordinated with permit conditions, operational priorities and approved commissioning plans.
* Plan commissioning activities for new projects and modifications to existing plant systems.
* Coordinate execution requirements with commissioning teams, contractors and equipment vendors.
* Confirm that all work follows company regulations and accepted industry practices.
* Implement the Work Permit Procedure with operations and other responsible teams.
* Ensure permit conditions are understood and applied consistently across commissioning areas.
* Define blanking and purging requirements before equipment testing or start-up.
* Audit work sites to verify readiness before commissioning tasks begin.
* Provide multidisciplinary support for operations and project commissioning activities.
* Review plant operating problems identified during testing and initial operation.
* Recommend technical actions that support safe and stable commissioning progress.
* Identify material requirements and follow up on procurement or site availability.
* Track commissioning schedules, milestones and outstanding activities.
* Align project execution plans with operational access and production requirements.
* Organize commissioning and start-up activities with project and operations teams.
* Promote a controlled and fault-free transition from project delivery to plant takeover.
* Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing with project engineers and relevant specialists.
* Participate in Site Acceptance Testing with inspection, engineering and operations teams.
* Verify completion of agreed testing activities and technical requirements.
* Monitor project execution schedules and evaluate their effect on ongoing operations.
* Escalate schedule conflicts, commissioning risks and readiness concerns promptly.
* Provide site engineering support throughout testing, start-up and handover.
* Maintain compliance with applicable HSE procedures and commissioning controls.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of eight years of project engineering or commissioning experience within an industrial plant environment is required.
The successful candidate will understand commissioning planning, work permits, plant isolation requirements, equipment testing and operational handover. Strong coordination skills are essential for managing interfaces between project personnel, contractors, vendors, inspection teams and plant operations. Relevant professional certification should be held where applicable.
The role is primarily based in an air-conditioned environment but may involve site visits with exposure to heat, humidity and dust.
