Role Context
The Project Coordinator - Shop Inspection will support the planning, coordination, tracking, and reporting of shop inspection activities for engineering and industrial project requirements. The role is important for ensuring that inspection assignments are scheduled properly, inspectors are aligned with project needs, documentation is completed accurately, and client or vendor communication remains clear throughout the inspection cycle.
This position helps improve project delivery by combining inspection coordination, technical knowledge, quality control awareness, leadership, time management, and accurate reporting in a structured oil and gas project environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate shop inspection activities for oil and gas, power, industrial, testing, inspection, and certification projects.
* Plan and track inspection schedules, project requirements, vendor readiness, and inspector availability.
* Communicate with clients, vendors, inspectors, QA-QC teams, project managers, and internal departments to maintain inspection workflow.
* Review inspection requests, project documents, technical requirements, and quality control expectations before coordination.
* Follow up on inspection progress, pending actions, report submissions, and project-related documentation.
* Ensure inspection activities are completed within agreed timelines and in line with project specifications.
* Maintain accurate inspection coordination records, project trackers, communication logs, and technical files.
* Support decision-making by identifying delays, coordination gaps, documentation issues, or vendor-side concerns.
* Assist in resolving project coordination problems through clear communication and practical follow-up.
* Monitor quality control requirements and ensure inspection deliverables are properly recorded and submitted.
* Support leadership in managing priorities across multiple inspection assignments.
* Maintain strong attention to detail while coordinating time-sensitive inspection and reporting requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Degree or diploma in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
* 12-15 years of experience in shop inspection coordination, project coordination, QA-QC coordination, or inspection project support.
* Strong experience in oil and gas, power, testing, inspection, certification, or industrial engineering project environments is preferred.
* Good command of English communication for client, vendor, and internal coordination.
* Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
* Ability to coordinate multiple inspection activities and maintain accurate follow-up records.
* Good technical knowledge related to engineering inspection, quality control, and project documentation.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify missing information, schedule risks, and reporting gaps.
* Leadership ability with confidence to coordinate teams, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-moving project situations.
