Role Context
The Quality Operations Technician supports day-to-day quality coordination across operational environments where accuracy, inspection readiness, and timely follow-up are essential. The role helps reduce non-conformances, strengthens audit preparedness, improves visibility of corrective action issues, and supports better control of facility and vessel quality records. By keeping registers, standards, inspection forms, and KPI information organized, this position contributes directly to safer, more reliable, and more efficient oil and energy operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a practical point of contact for craft supervisors requiring updated information on standards, codes, technical publications, inspection tools, and measuring instruments.
* Ensure all inspection forms follow a consistent approved format and are completed on a monthly basis.
* Maintain quality records, applicable codes, operational standards, inspection documents, and related compliance files.
* Coordinate with facility, vessel, and administrative office teams on the status of Corrective Action Register issues.
* Support the development of processes for measuring non-conformances, including production delays, unscheduled helicopter flights, redundant vessel movements, and similar operational quality concerns.
* Assist with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISM, and ISPS code audit preparation.
* Help track corrective action closures and support timely follow-up with responsible teams.
* Act as a focal point for expediting quality-related facility or vessel issues.
* Assist with facility and vessel Key Performance Indicator measurements, reporting, and record updates.
* Maintain registers covering ladders, below-hook lift devices, corrective actions, training records, and MSDS documentation.
* Review routine operational quality issues and apply established procedures to evaluate suitable solutions.
* Keep communication clear between quality, operations, supervision, and administration teams.
* Support continuous improvement by improving documentation accuracy, audit readiness, and operational quality visibility.
Ideal Profile
* High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in quality operations, inspection coordination, offshore operations, marine support, fabrication, construction, or energy-related environments is preferred.
* Strong computer skills for maintaining registers, records, spreadsheets, reports, and quality documentation.
* Ability to organize large volumes of operational information with accuracy and consistency.
* Familiarity with Corrective Action Registers, inspection forms, quality records, MSDS documentation, and KPI reporting is an advantage.
* Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISM, and ISPS audit requirements is beneficial.
* Disciplined work habits with strong attention to procedural detail.
* Well-developed communication skills for dealing with supervisors, operational management, and administrative teams.
