Role Context
The Scaffolding Inspector - Offshore Safety will be responsible for inspecting scaffold structures and ensuring they meet approved safety, design, and operational requirements before use. The role is critical in offshore oil and gas and petrochemical environments where scaffold reliability directly affects worker safety, access control, maintenance execution, and project continuity.
This position supports safe work execution by combining mechanical engineering awareness, scaffold design knowledge, hazard identification, risk assessment, fall protection review, PPE inspection, and strong written reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect scaffold structures used for tanks, vessels, pipelines, offshore platforms, petrochemical units, and industrial project areas.
* Verify scaffold erection, modification, tagging, access, bracing, anchoring, loading, and dismantling activities against approved standards.
* Review scaffold designs, site conditions, work requirements, and safety controls before approving scaffold access.
* Conduct visual inspections to identify unsafe scaffold conditions, missing components, poor access, overloading risks, or structural concerns.
* Apply health and safety regulations, international scaffolding standards, ADNOC Offshore requirements, and HSE procedures during all inspection work.
* Check fall protection systems, PPE use, working platforms, guardrails, toe boards, ladders, and access routes for compliance.
* Support risk assessments and hazard identification for scaffolding activities in offshore and industrial environments.
* Coordinate with scaffold supervisors, HSE teams, site management, maintenance teams, and client representatives.
* Prepare clear inspection reports, scaffold status records, non-compliance notes, and corrective action recommendations.
* Monitor scaffold-related safety practices during erection, use, alteration, and removal activities.
* Provide technical guidance on scaffold safety requirements and inspection findings when required.
* Maintain inspection discipline, written communication accuracy, and compliance focus across assigned project areas.
Ideal Profile
* Mechanical Diploma, BE, B.Tech, or relevant engineering qualification.
* Advanced scaffolding certifications and relevant approvals are required.
* CISRS Advanced Scaffolding Inspection certification is preferred.
* ADNOC Offshore approvals are required or strongly preferred.
* 10-12 years of comprehensive scaffolding inspection, scaffold management, or scaffold safety experience.
* Minimum 5 years of specialized experience in offshore oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering basics related to scaffold structures and industrial access systems.
* Proven ability to inspect and manage complex scaffold structures for tanks, vessels, pipelines, and offshore platforms.
* Sound understanding of international safety standards, HSE requirements, fall protection systems, and site safety procedures.
* Ability to conduct detailed visual inspections and prepare accurate written reports.
* Strong risk assessment, hazard identification, and safety compliance skills.
