Senior Data Protection Specialist - Digital Governance in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is an Oil and Energy opportunity for an experienced digital governance and data protection professional who can develop enterprise data governance frameworks, improve data quality, manage information asset protection, and support regulatory compliance across ADNOC Group. The role focuses on establishing consistent data standards, strengthening digital governance practices, supporting enterprise risk management, and protecting strategic data and technology assets across business and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, deliver, and maintain an enterprise-level data strategy and governance program across ADNOC Group.
* Design and roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework with focus on data quality, security, privacy, and protection.
* Establish policy and procedural frameworks for group-level enterprise data governance and data management practices.
* Execute corporate-wide digital governance activities to ensure consistency, quality, protection, and compliance across data and technology policies.
* Work with business, operations, and technology teams to define sensitive data protection requirements clearly.
* Support escalation, analysis, and resolution of data governance, data quality, and data protection issues.
* Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise information assets, authoritative systems, data owners, and stewardship responsibilities.
* Facilitate adoption of data quality standards, data protection standards, and enterprise governance requirements.
* Define roles and responsibilities for data governance and ensure accountability for stewardship of ADNOC Group information assets.
* Define Enterprise Architecture Information Principles and establish standards for rollout through the annual assurance program.
* Establish enterprise risk management frameworks, assessment methodologies, and digital risk practices.
* Support risk champions and practice owners in identifying, assessing, reporting, and reviewing digital risks.
* Maintain risk registers and conduct periodic risk reviews in line with the enterprise risk management framework.
* Build strong relationships with internal departments, shareholders, government authorities, service providers, vendors, and stakeholders.
* Provide technical expertise on market developments, new data protection technologies, and vendor capabilities.
* Support RFPs, RFQs, tender documents, contractual documentation, and service level agreements related to data protection.
* Participate in vendor negotiations to protect ADNOC interests and support cost-effective technology services.
* Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned activities to meet functional objectives.
* Train and develop assigned staff in relevant digital governance and data protection skills.
* Provide budget inputs, monitor significant variances, and support effective cost control.
* Implement approved policies, systems, standards, procedures, and governance controls in line with company and international standards.
* Prepare MIS reports, progress reports, and management information for leadership review.
* Support innovation and continuous improvement by introducing better tools, methods, and governance practices.
* Comply with HSE, sustainability, applicable legislation, and ADNOC Code of Practices requirements.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or an equivalent discipline.
* Master’s degree will be preferred.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in a major organization with exposure to data governance, digital governance, governance management systems, data protection, audit, or transformation leadership.
* Experience in consulting or international market environments will be an advantage.
* Strong background in large-scale data governance audits, enterprise data management, governance oversight, and supervisory responsibilities.
* Practical track record in data governance practices, enterprise information asset management, and data protection approaches.
* Strong knowledge of digital governance frameworks, data management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and emerging technology trends.
* Understanding of risk management, business continuity, technology architecture, and technology solutions.
* Able to demonstrate consulting skills, change management capability, communication planning, cultural change awareness, and performance measurement design.
* Recognized subject matter expertise in digital governance, data governance, enterprise architecture, and data protection.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate across senior management, group companies, vendors, consultants, and external authorities.
* High attention to detail with strong analytical, reporting, governance, and problem-solving skills.
