Role Context
The Senior Civil and Structural Designer completes varied design
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare arrangement drawings, layouts, and detailed civil and structural designs.
* Produce technically accurate drawings with a clear, consistent, and construction-friendly presentation.
* Develop coordinated 3D models based on project and interdisciplinary requirements.
* Identify and resolve model clashes in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
* Ensure design work complies with the Master Document Register and applicable QA and QC procedures.
* Review the project scope, specifications, schedule, and interdisciplinary requirements.
* Identify design concerns at an early stage and initiate suitable action.
* Prepare civil and structural layouts using engineering data and multidisciplinary inputs.
* Complete assignments according to company, client, statutory, and project-specific codes and standards.
* Maintain particular attention to health and safety requirements throughout the design process.
* Organize assigned work and manage time effectively to meet established deadlines.
* Check designs with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary interfaces.
* Review drawings prepared by other disciplines and equipment suppliers.
* Provide drafting and technical design support when required.
* Guide and supervise Associate Designers assigned to relevant activities.
* Support colleagues and projects during periods of increased workload.
* Ensure proper handover when reassigned to another department, construction site, or fabrication yard.
* Develop proficiency in new working methods, design systems, and software applications.
Ideal Profile
* High school qualification with a diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
* Minimum 5 years of experience with a major engineering contractor or consultant.
* Knowledge of relevant civil and structural detailing standards.
* Practical experience with 2D drafting and 3D modeling systems.
* Familiarity with E3D or S3D.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
* Exposure to AutoLISP programming, drafting menus, or macro compilation is advantageous.
* Familiar with applicable engineering codes and standards.
* Working command of written and spoken English.
* Flexible and willing to support departments, construction sites, fabrication yards, and other projects.
* Committed to HSE, total quality management, and cost-conscious design practices.
