What Does a Senior Electrical Engineer Do?
A Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing offshore electrical systems, ensuring compliance with international safety standards, and supporting procurement, project coordination, and power system studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engineering design and documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Utilize discipline-specific software such as SP EL, AVEVA Electrical, ETAP, and PS CAD
- Perform power system studies, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and system compliance evaluations
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and conduct site surveys for project execution
- Oversee procurement, material requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor documentation
- Plan and estimate material take-offs, project man-hours, and overall cost evaluation
- Ensure electrical system compliance with offshore oil and gas industry standards
- Provide technical reports, support testing, and monitor project progress
What Skills Are Needed for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Abu Dhabi?
- Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in offshore EPC/EPCI oil and gas projects
