Key Responsibilities
The position provides mechanical engineering expertise across pipeline facilities, routine maintenance programs, equipment modifications and major expenditure projects.
* Ensure pipelines, static equipment and rotating machinery are maintained, improved or replaced according to asset integrity and operational requirements.
* Plan mechanical maintenance activities in coordination with operations, inspection, engineering and other technical sections.
* Review equipment condition, maintenance history and operational priorities before preparing work schedules.
* Analyze breakdown work orders and conduct root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact mechanical failures.
* Recommend corrective and preventive measures that reduce equipment downtime and prevent failure recurrence.
* Participate in the PMO program and follow up on the implementation of approved maintenance activities.
* Review mechanical asset records, preventive maintenance routines and job plans for alignment with company maintenance and inspection policy.
* Improve the quality of maintenance data used for equipment history, reliability analysis and future work planning.
* Participate in mechanical asset inspections and punch-list preparation during operational handovers.
* Verify that outstanding mechanical issues are recorded, assigned and resolved before final asset acceptance.
* Review proposed equipment modifications and ensure work follows the approved Plant Change Procedure.
* Confirm that completed changes are technically documented and reflected in relevant asset records and drawings.
* Plan and support Extra Ordinary Maintenance, Major Maintenance and capital-budget activities for the mechanical section.
* Develop execution plans, resource requirements and technical priorities for approved maintenance projects.
* Monitor expenditure and work progress to support timely completion within authorized budgets.
* Ensure that required materials, spare parts, consumables and specialist tools are available in the correct quantity and quality.
* Review mechanical spare specifications and coordinate with procurement, stores and vendors when additional materials are required.
* Identify critical spare-part requirements that could affect pipeline availability or emergency maintenance response.
* Participate in risk assessment exercises involving mechanical equipment, pipeline installations and maintenance activities.
* Prepare technical recommendations and practical controls addressing findings from completed risk assessments.
* Review and update mechanical maintenance procedures according to company requirements, equipment condition and recognized industry practices.
* Provide technical support to mechanical maintenance personnel during routine servicing, equipment failure and complex repair work.
* Guide maintenance teams when troubleshooting pumps, vessels, valves, rotating equipment and associated pipeline systems.
* Prepare clear scopes of work for outsourced maintenance, inspection, repair and engineering services.
* Conduct technical evaluations of tender submissions and assess compliance with specified requirements.
* Review contractor proposals, execution methods, equipment capabilities and technical deliverables.
* Review, plan and approve mechanical maintenance work orders raised through the MAXIMO system.
* Verify work-order priorities, resource needs, materials, safety requirements and planned completion dates.
* Follow up on work-order execution to ensure timely, efficient and technically acceptable completion.
* Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, equipment findings, replaced components and outstanding recommendations.
* Supervise mechanical maintenance activities in the assigned area and align daily work with functional objectives.
* Allocate responsibilities based on workforce capability, maintenance urgency and operational requirements.
* Train and develop assigned personnel in relevant mechanical maintenance and asset-reliability practices.
* Provide input for section, team and departmental budget preparation.
* Support implementation of approved budgets and work plans while monitoring maintenance expenditure.

Candidates should possess:
* Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification.
* At least six years of mechanical engineering experience within a large oil and gas organization.
* Experience developing mechanical specifications and reviewing design drawings for vessels, pumps and related equipment.
* Strong knowledge of static equipment, rotating machinery and mechanical pipeline installations.
* Practical expertise in pre-service and in-service maintenance analysis for pipeline mechanical assets.
* Ability to prepare engineering calculations, technical notes, requisitions, specifications and discipline deliverables.
* Experience conducting root cause analysis for breakdowns and recurring equipment failures.
* Familiarity with preventive maintenance, shutdown planning and asset integrity requirements.
* Working knowledge of MAXIMO or a comparable computerized maintenance management system.
* Experience preparing tender scopes and performing technical bid evaluations.
