Position Overview

Senior Financial Systems Analyst in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is a finance and accounting systems role within the Oil and Energy sector, focused on Oracle Financials administration, financial data integrity, reporting structures, cost reporting, budgeting, month-end close support, and financial process automation. The role is suited for an experienced accounting and finance professional with strong knowledge of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Chart of Accounts, IFRS reporting, system interfaces, and Oracle-based financial reporting.

What You’ll Do

* Administer and maintain finance databases including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, currencies, and Chart of Accounts.
* Ensure the integrity of interfaces between Oracle Financials and related systems such as Maximo, HRMS, inventory, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
* Supervise monthly closing activities, financial data uploads, General Ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial and cost reports.
* Support Finance Division end users, finance away teams, reporting officers, and business users on Oracle Financials and related finance systems.
* Ensure accurate charge-out in Oracle Financial Costing System in line with accounting guides and service agreements between concessions.
* Participate in finance system implementations, upgrades, business requirement gathering, testing, and process improvement activities.
* Train and support finance users, away teams, young UAE Nationals, and internal stakeholders on system usage and reporting processes.
* Design, develop, and maintain financial reporting structures within Oracle Financials.
* Analyze finance processes and propose automation solutions to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and process performance.
* Perform scenario analysis, develop ad-hoc queries, and provide finance data support for management requirements.
* Analyze accounting code combination requests from finance away teams and reporting officers.
* Define, create, update, activate, and deactivate segment values and accounting code combinations in Oracle Financials.
* Support Oracle processes related to inventory, internal commitments, and external commitments.
* Interface accounts payable and accounts receivable data into Oracle Financials for actuals and commitments.
* Prepare monthly cost reports, quarterly and annual billing statements, and budget reports according to company guidelines and schedules.
* Contribute to the enhancement of reporting mechanisms and ensure effective use of Oracle Financials and Maximo.
* Prepare budget notifications and performance reports at business unit and service unit levels on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
* Design budget and business plan templates and produce financial data for five-year corporate planning.
* Prepare and deliver financial and management reports for shareholders and company management related to joint venture and sole risk activities.
* Generate monthly trial balances for ADOF and concessions within required timelines.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank balances, supplier advances, and cash call positions with supporting documents.
* Investigate reconciliation differences and prepare journal vouchers for adjustments and corrections.
* Reconcile payroll, accounts payable, and inventory interface reports with General Ledger reports.
* Investigate interface anomalies and prepare corrective journal vouchers where required.
* Prepare cash calls for associated ventures after monitoring expenditure.
* Run allocation processes after verifying expenditure pools and received statistics, then post related journals through Oracle.
* Prepare variance analysis by comparing monthly actuals and actuals against budget.
* Prepare draft quarterly and annual financial statements for ADOF and concessions in line with Accounting Guide and IFRS.
* Maintain financial statement workings to support the drafting, review, and finalization of financial statements.
* Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned finance system and accounting activities to meet section objectives.
* Train and develop assigned staff to strengthen technical capability and finance systems proficiency.
* Provide input for section and department budgets and support implementation of approved budgets and work plans.
* Investigate and highlight significant budget or performance variances to support cost control.
* Implement approved policies, systems, processes, standards, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
* Contribute to approved performance objectives within the company performance framework.
* Design and implement tools and techniques to improve finance process quality and operational efficiency.
* Identify internal process improvements based on ISO standards and finance best practices.
* Comply with HSE policies, sustainability guidelines, ADNOC Code of Practices, and applicable requirements.
* Provide inputs for section MIS reports, progress reports, and management reporting.

Candidate Requirements

* Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or CPA.
* Minimum 8-9 years of experience in finance and accounting.
* Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Oracle Financials, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, currencies, and Chart of Accounts.
* Experience with accounting code combinations, segment values, financial reporting structures, and finance system master data.
* Strong understanding of Oracle Financial Costing System, cost allocation, financial interfaces, and month-end closing.
* Experience preparing cost reports, budget reports, billing statements, trial balances, cash calls, variance analysis, and management reports.
* Knowledge of IFRS, accounting guides, financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal voucher processing.
* Ability to support system integrations between Oracle Financials and systems such as Maximo, HRMS, inventory, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
* Experience with finance process automation, ad-hoc queries, scenario analysis, and financial reporting enhancements.
* Ability to train and support finance users, away teams, reporting officers, and junior employees.
* Strong analytical, reconciliation, reporting, planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proficient English communication skills.
* Ability to coordinate with division managers, finance teams, job officers, division planners, concession holders, and external auditors.
