Role Context
The Senior Fire Officer provides frontline leadership for fire, toxic gas release, hydrocarbon incidents, rescue situations and other emergencies affecting offshore and island operations. The position combines incident command, firefighter supervision, technical training, emergency preparedness inspections and fire equipment assurance. By maintaining competent response teams and reliable firefighting systems, the role helps protect personnel, marine assets, production facilities and municipal infrastructure from major operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond on a 24-hour basis to fire, hydrocarbon release, toxic gas incidents, rescue emergencies and fire loss control situations.
* Assume Incident Commander responsibilities during emergencies until relieved by a more senior fire officer.
* Lead and supervise firefighters during firefighting, rescue, oil spill, chemical spill and gas release response activities.
* Coordinate emergency medical support and rescue operations in accordance with established procedures.
* Supervise activities of the Island Fire Training Centre under the direction of the Lead Fire Training Officer.
* Ensure training programs are delivered in accordance with approved Fire Service policies and accepted standards.
* Develop training aids and instructional materials for professional emergency response programs.
* Deliver firefighting and emergency response training to Fire Service personnel at multiple competency levels.
* Train UAE National employees participating in Career Development and Personnel Development Programs.
* Develop and deliver emergency response and chemical incident courses for offshore facilities and associated marine vessels.
* Prepare realistic emergency scenarios and conduct simulated response exercises.
* Coordinate drills involving Fire Teams, Auxiliary Fire Teams and marine emergency response personnel.
* Deliver breathing apparatus and life support equipment training.
* Provide instruction on specialized departmental equipment including air compressors, carbon dioxide systems, bulk dry chemical filling machines and breathing apparatus test rigs.
* Conduct daily inspections across operating facilities to verify compliance with HSE regulations, fire codes and standards.
* Prepare inspection findings, observations and related safety reports.
* Support preparation of BSA and STOP reports arising from field inspections.
* Supervise testing and maintenance of major firefighting vehicles.
* Train Fire Service personnel in proper operation, inspection and testing of firefighting vehicles.
* Conduct operational testing of marine firefighting tugs.
* Test major fire main components to confirm reliability and emergency readiness.

Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s Degree from a recognized institution.
* Minimum 5-6 years of relevant Fire Fighting or Fire Protection experience.
* Significant experience using fire and life support equipment within the Oil and Gas industry.
* Approximately 5 years of experience in a senior firefighting or supervisory position is preferred.
* Watch Commander Level qualification or equivalent.
* Fire Service Instructor certification or equivalent.
* Strong practical experience in industrial firefighting and offshore emergency response.
* Experience leading firefighting teams during operational emergencies.
* Strong understanding of incident command principles and emergency scene control.
* Practical knowledge of hydrocarbon fires, toxic gas releases, oil spills and chemical incidents.
